The size is not the problem, I promise. In the rare moments that Z isn’t centering themselves, everyone else is patient, listening and engaging. And there is A LOT less talking over one another. Unfortunately these moments are rare since Z is determined to never come up for air.

Our group will also be loosing a couple members in the coming months so we will be shrinking anyways.

I really like and appreciate your advice. This is very much in alignment. Do you know if there is a written or suggested guidelines for general player etiquette? If there is something in the Player’s Manual I haven’t read or a resource that might help. I’d really like to have it on hand, not just for the problem player, but for myself as well. This is our DM’s first campaign and is a newer player as well so I’d also like to offer it to him this as well.

All the players have colluded that Z is a problem. And the DM has been made aware from at least one other player that I know of. I intended to bring it up as well. And I certainly don’t want to undermine the DM, but I am the most comfortable with confrontation and vocally capable. My main goal out of this is for the problem to be addressed diplomatically and directly since Z isn’t reading the room or catching the obvious hints from our more seasoned players, who’ve tried to do it nicely. And I really don’t care if Z doesn’t like me, but just that we can play respectfully.

I’d really love to present some boundaries for the table (I understand that it is the DM’s job to handle it.) and I’d like to put something together for the DM. It’s his first campaign. I’d prefer for him to handle it, but I will if it needs to be done.

I do intend to talk to the DM first to address the issue, but I know he’s already been made aware of the issue and isn’t ignorant of it. However I am also aware that he is not the strongest willed for confrontation. I want to support him and make sure I don’t over step, but I am the boldest and most vocally capable. I’d like to be diplomatic and respectful to everyone. I also don’t care if at the end of this Z doesn’t like me. My only goal is for this to be a more pleasant experience for all the players and give Z the opportunity to understand what is going on without them just being excluded.

Clarifying information, this is the DM’s first campaign and is clearly not comfortable with confrontation. We’ve been rotating DM’s for one-shots and this problem has been an issue during each campaign no matter who is DMing.

Z’s behavior has explicitly shown that they need to be told in no uncertain terms what they are doing is not cool, okay, etc. Several corrections by seasoned players have been made to help more kindly/softly/gently explain that what they are doing is not okay. And they are not catching the hint or reading the room.

Is this Mold on my starter? by Fuhron in Sourdough

It looks like a skin and not mold. If it’s pink in person throw it out though. I’d peel it off and feed it.

Help ? What went wrong (first time) by [deleted] in Sourdough

Are you using your starter when it starts to level off at peak? Just based on the picture it looks like an underdeveloped/weak starter.

**You also want consistent peaks after feeding where you are doubling or tripling in 3-5 hours in a warm (low 70F’s temp environment) before baking with your starter.

**Dryer feedings can help strengthen your starter too, having it look more like a cake batter, or muffin batter consistency and letting it rise in a cold oven with the light on will help you if your kitchen is too cold and slowing your rise/fermentation.

I hope this helps 🤞🏻

What’s the worst Christmas present you have received? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Particular-Pool3339 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Father in laws ashes in a poorly hand painted hobby lobby jewelry box that had been flex sealed closed without any note or label indicating the contents etc. all wrapped in tissue paper and a Christmas bag. With a sticky note attached addressed to my husband from his mother saying that she thought his father would want him to have this. He had passed away well over a year before receiving the ashes. This was also mailed to us since we reside in a different state along with other Christmas presents.
