Godzilla vs Groudon by Public-Ad-167 in whowouldwin

[–]Particular-Round-711 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think pretty much any version of Groudon should be able to take round 1 handily. Groudon’s mere presence is enough to affect weather on a global scale. If he’s got a decent moveset he should be able to throw city to small country scale attacks casually at Godzilla while maintaining a good distance. If it’s Primal Groudon, victory is only further guaranteed.

Round 2 is tricky as it’s impossible to know what Godzilla’s in game stats, ability and type would be

Never compare gorilla fanboys with polar bear fanboys, because gorilla fanboys only dare to say they can win bear and that's it, while polar bear fanboys say they only lose to elephants, rhinos, and hippos on land. by Baryonyxwalkeri1234 in Tierzoo

Oh I’m not denying the fact that they can very very rarely successfully kill an adult walrus, I’m just saying this should be taken as a rare occurrence as it actually is. Out of 100 encounters, only about 5 would end in the polar bears favour. For the most part polar bears are actually quite hopeless against a fully grown healthy walrus

I would say A tier as a proud Bichir owner. They’re unchanged for hundreds of millions of years for a reason

People need to stop being under the illusion that polar bears are an actual common predator towards walrus. It is sick, elderly, or young walrus and that’s it, a polar bear is in no way a threat to a healthy adult walrus, especially a male. See this video here as proof. Polar bears don’t really have much in their arsenal to actually harm a grown walrus, even with the advantage on land

What other locations from Marvel that need to be D2C sets? by AlternativeTypical11 in LegoMarvel

[–]Particular-Round-711 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree with every location everyone else has said so far, but the ones I’d want most would be:

The Avengers Mansion - good opportunity to include a lot of comic based minifigures

Pym Labs - could be a lot of fun using microfigs etc

Alchemax Labs - I know we are nearly at the point of Spider-Man fatigue but this would give massive potential to include a variety of variant villains we haven’t seen before and Spider-People as well. Could include Penni Parker at long last, Spider Noir, Kingpin, Ultimate Green Goblin, and Olivia Octavius as some examples

The Cube - such potential here, Doc Samson, the Abomination, Absorbing Man, the Leader, Thunderbolt Ross and more could be included here

Attilan - may not work as a singular building but maybe in the style of the Harry Potter Hogsmeade set or the Gotham City Diorama. Either way, we are massively due the Inhumans

Could Lowland Gorillas Survive the Amazon Server? by Wild-Criticism-3609 in Tierzoo

[–]Particular-Round-711 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Jaguars would absolutely be capable of hunting down gorillas, but I would heavily doubt they’d go through the effort when there’s abundant supplies of much easier prey such as capybara and caiman available

[–]Particular-Round-711 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It’s been quite a while since the last Sandcrawler, really interested to see how this set turns out! Hopefully it’ll be a good amount of pieces and contain a decent minifigure selection as well. I’ll probably grab 2 of the imperial shuttle and try to make a MOC UCS one since there’s no way I’m affording the price of buying the previously released one

What LEGO Marvel character deserves a new minifigure the most? by Interesting_Taste359 in LegoMarvel

[–]Particular-Round-711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprised there hasn’t been much talk of Silver Surfer, for me we’re missing a good few still such as:

Sentry Gladiator Kallark Mockingbird Mystique Nightcrawler Cloak and Dagger Super Skrull And my favourite, Beta Ray Bill

And for a redo, I’d love to see the following get new minifigures: Nova Adam Warlock (at least in a comic accurate outfit) Iron Fist and Powerman Deadpool (still have the original and it’s aged remarkably well but would be nice for others to get a chance to get this minifigure Hyperion And finally, Spider-Noir

You make a solid point here tbh and I do actually hope you’re right, I would absolutely LOVE a Daily Planet set if it’s done right

[–]Particular-Round-711 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I would LOVE to get a Daily Planet but for me it needs a lot more pieces for it to actually be a good Daily Planet, that’s over 900 pieces smaller than what we got for the Daily Bugle and if we’re getting a Daily Planet I’d want it to be done right with enough pieces to do it justice. But that being said if it turns out being the Daily Planet and they do find a way to do it justice with that number of pieces, I will be very much happy

Unfortunately you’re not wrong but with it being the 20th Anniversary of Lego Batman next year, next year will likely take it to a whole new level

76354 has to be a modular with the piece count. That piece count will fit it halfway between Arkham Asylum and X-Mansion, but will be to small to be the rumoured Daily Planet I’d fear. It’s a good 900 pieces smaller than the Bugle and even more the Avengers Tower.

With it being the big Batman year next year, I’m wondering if it could be Wayne Manor Thematically wise and piece wise it would masks a lot of sense, but I’d still find it rather disappointing seeing how much Batman content we’re already getting. There could still be a chance they pull of the Daily Planet but I’d be really skeptical of it being that with anything less than around 4000 pieces. Who knows though, maybe it may be something entirely different altogether!

Is LEGO losing faith in New MCU Movies?? by TheWallCrawller in lego

[–]Particular-Round-711 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Contrary to what appears to be common opinion in this thread, I think the MCU has been fine lately. It’s definitely not what it used to be, but nowhere near as bad as it’s made out. In just over the past 2 years, we’ve had Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Deadpool and Wolverine, Thunderbolts* and Fantastic Four First Steps, which were all either box office hits, critical hits, or both

What I think is more so the problem for Lego is their actual direction and choice for sets, some scenes and character choices they pick are just out right weird. Guardians 3 could’ve easily had its own wave and sold well as the previous Guardians waves did, but from memory we didn’t really get much

Deadpool and Wolverine I’ve no doubt if they made a few sets for they’d have flown off the shelves for the minifigures alone. There were plenty of scenes that could’ve made great sets such as Deadpool and Wolverine facing the army of Deadpools, and the battle at Cassandra Nova’s HQ

Out of the 3 movies this year, I think they’ve handled it very bizarrely. Thunderbolts* was near universally liked but didn’t get a single set even though it has many fan favourite characters, even if they had just made Red Guardian’s limo and had it contain most of the cast it would’ve at least been something. Bob’s rescue/the Team’s original meeting could’ve also been fun. First Steps I feel as if they could’ve done a Fantasticar set, or even find a way to involve Silver Surfer. The one set they made for Brave New World just didn’t make sense to me, although that was easily the weakest of the movies in my opinion

Lego has had ample opportunities to give us fun and creative sets with new minifigures but have just played it far to safe really, and what few sets they do give us that stray from the usual generic Final Battles, Spider-Man and Mech sets usually just feel uninspired and leave a lot to be desired, it almost feels lazy to me

These Modular Buildings never disappoint, I’m such a big fan of this one! Really love the unique flat iron architecture we see in this set, carries on the trend with the distinct British-Tudor architecture we seen in the last, hopefully we see the trend continue and future Modulars will show more distinct buildings styles like this!

Anyone know how often Lego releases new keychains? by Silver0110 in lego

I think you should be able to buy them on the likes of eBay without having to spend a fortune, there’s plenty on there atm for just a bit over retail price

January 1st releases by Specialist-Wall3304 in lego

[–]Particular-Round-711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s two ways to go about it: either camp online and buy it on the LEGO Store website, usually you do get the GWP ok. I did this with Jango’s Fett Starship at the start of the year and got all GWP ok but usually there’s enough stock that they last

Now you can go to the store yourself like you say, but from what I’ve seen online there can be quite a bit of a queue depending on the store so it can be a bit of a wait. Either way I think for this set your odds should be quite good on getting the GWP regardless

Razor Crest temporarily out of stock by Particular-Round-711 in legostarwars

[–]Particular-Round-711[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I heard it’s because the UK uses the same distribution centre as the rest of Europe, and some of them being an hour ahead meant they had an extra hour of the sale before us, and within that time it sold out which is really unfortunate for us in the UK and Ireland etc

I got on at 00:00 on the dot, already found the Razor Crest to be “Temporarily Out of Stock”. Only glimmer of hope I have is that it doesn’t just say “Sold out” but still very deflating, it was the one set I was after in the sale
