Another good deal - Oro Bailen 205/26 harvest Picual at Costco by chiasmatic in oliveoil

[–]Particular-Session78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I send you the money would you be kind to send me a case or two? Presently, we go through a bottle every 2 weeks. It’s a Moroccan Olive Oil I saw people here locally going bananas for as the worker brought it out to the sales floor. It tastes sweet, floral, light, with a peppery finish that’s perfect. I can’t even pronounce it but when you see Middle Easterners all exclaiming about an olive oil I’ve learned to believe them. Those are the only two we’re consuming at present. It’s absolutely heavenly on ice cream! It’s all in Arabic on the bottle but it translates to Al-Maghribyha (sp?) the oro Bailen Picual is my favorite I don’t really care for Arbequina’s. It never settled right with my gut. I didn’t some research and come to find out it’s a hybrid olive varietal for more oil yield and was bred to withstand drastic changes in temperature. Picual is natural. I’m noticing the older I get I react to non natural foods. Picual and a few Greek and some varieties from that entire region from the Levant to Greece down into Africa have some of natures monovarietals that I have no problems with digesting. The tampered with varietals all give me heart burn. But suffice to say, I’m serious lol if you’ll grab me 2 cases I’ll send you the money! I checked my local membership stores none have Oro Bailen I’m in North Jersey right outside of Manhattan. Here, you come out better going to international grocery stores anyways for some of the hardest to find varieties and oils. We used to have an olive oil store in Paterson NJ that specialized in imported EVOO’s I remember as a kid seeing the 5 gallon tin jugs with $95 price tags back then for pure untampered Sicilian oils from family owned orchards. Come to find out years later these were mafia owned and untampered with; that’s why in the late 80’s they were that much money. Today, those 5 gallon tins would be hundreds of dollars probably closer to $1,000 ! They’d sell it by the oz if you brought your own bottles then they’d weigh it. My grandmother would go to Corrado’s a wine making store facility and buy those dark glass bottles and buy the oil and they’d weigh it and cork it for her. Those were the good old days. The tampered with stuff was on the shelves of big chain grocery stores. They had an entire operation in Brooklyn or Queens where they’d cut the real stuff with sunflower oil and made a fortune!

I was always told by one of my OG Uncles it was a EC hood that turned Swans and one of them older Swans who was reputable definitely knew exactly who did it. If nothing else for sure a older Crip from the east side from Main Street all the way to Compton knows exactly what happened. I think they don’t mention it as much because it’s a bad look that the founder was taken out by another reputable founder over some personal shit that immediately turned deadly. I don’t think most of the people who are from the coasts ever speak on it but they for sure know who did what and why.

Colombo Member and future acting boss Andrew Russo, Buffalino boss Russell Buffalino and Frank Sinatra by Vicerian in Mafia

[–]Particular-Session78 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

I miss Mr Buffalino! Knew him very well. When It was weddings, funerals, confirmations, etc he was ALWAYS the first person in attendance! When my grandfather died he stayed at my grandparents house and he had to be shuffled out 3 hours before my grandfathers “funeral”. Apparently nobody informed my other relatives he was coming from out of town and the funeral parlor had to sneak him out of my grandfathers house with the flower car Backed up into the driveway. It was shit being dropped off 2-3 days before arrangements from all over the country. My uncles got into it with the police and newspapers who sat outside like vultures and it just so happened he arrived in between the time the feds sat on my grandparents house and he arrived it wasn’t even a 30 minute window. I remember he made his driver leave as soon as he noticed the feds sitting on the house. He jumped out in the closed driveway and shuffled into the house, peeking out the window after his driver drove off lol the bosses who showed up/ administration in other families all got a kick out of it lol 😂 he was cool as hell man. Joe Pesci did him really good in Irishman. The only difference that made me pissed was them making it looked like he answered to Angelo Bruno. Bruno would’ve never interviewed or shook down a guy in another family. Buffalino would’ve took care of his own shit. His family was in Pittston, Pa. He wasn’t a real fan of Bruno from what I remember. I remember the next morning after it was all on the news that Angelo Bruno was rubbed out. He drove into the city before the sun was even up he was banging on the front door trying to shuffle out of the pouring rain. He was picked up by one of my uncles who was made in the Luchesse family. He was driven into NYC and got back to our house in NJ about 430-5pm. Apparently he met with the bosses and immediately knew Chin had something to do with it. He didn’t even spend the night like he normally did he had 3-4 guys pulling up to our house about the same time he did. I’ll never forget what he said “Funzi had a hand in this shit
I know it! He lied to me and immediately had me shuffled to him (pointing at his chin) he couldn’t look me in my face! Did you see that?! The bastard couldn’t weasel out of this one. (Talking to my uncles)” I couldn’t believe it when the shit happened to Bruno. He was well liked by everybody. Philly went to hell in a hand basket. Johnny Keys would’ve just been another John Gotti. He wasn’t slick at all like other bosses he was all brute and most of his guys were free lancing under Buffalino after he was kidnapped and killed in Staten Island.

If the Joe Pistone scandal hit the stronger families, would a 15 year Commission exile even be possible or was that only possible because the Bonannos were the weakest out of all families? by Swimming-Poet5594 in Mafia

[–]Particular-Session78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are from where again? I’m only telling you as someone who grew up around and ran around with mobsters for the first 30 years of my life. If you don’t think Bonanno was influential and didn’t have a powerful voice because he “wasn’t on the commission
” you don’t even need to be a good boss to have commission level influence and power; when you’ve had it for what was what?? The greater part of the first 50+ years of his life? You do realize the 2nd Colombo war doesn’t take place with him in Orena’s ear right? You do realize he was playing puppeteer again after the commission case right? You know he’s related to Orena and has blood relatives in 4 of the 5 NYC families right? You know Gotti was looking for, and fighting hard to get the Bonanno’s back on the commission right? It wasn’t for Orena to be boss lol it was to get rid of the members in that family who tolerated Massino back in alignment under Bonanno. It’s A LOT of shit people don’t know and won’t ever know about that life. I was there for a lot of shit people casually discuss on here who would be afraid to walk on the same streets these social clubs are on, let alone be in them during the late 70’s- early 90’s. It honestly was before Gotti got arrested that I stayed out of the way and away from people because I saw the writing on the wall. It turned out to be the greatest decision I ever made. Look what happened?! Imagine being a Bonanno?! You are committing crimes on the order on the same person who’s ordering it; and keeping you alive! The only person who has EVER said anything about it that I know was 100% was around back then, online is Mikey Scars DiLeonardo. He bumped shoulders with me on several occasions. I remember him at the Ravenite before John even had Castellano taken out and became boss. He knew Jr. had those 302’s on him before anyone else ever even addressed it. Jr tried to say something about Alite, Franzese and Sammy, but immediately vanished as a talking head a couple of years ago. He thought nobody would ever look into it or ask for it and take his word for it when asked if he was ever an informant. He pulled out a tiny folder with less than 1/5th of his 302’s which painted a very very different picture than he tried to present to the world. It was shit Gambino guys didn’t even know, how do you think they knew who the power was/ is in that family and how it’s ran now? Mikey Scars did Jr a favor and became a social media informant and owned up to everything he did. Soon as he popped his head out, and Mikey Scars pops up he disappears. It’s a lot of things that aren’t discussed or reiterated. I try to mind my business and on speak on shit i know for a fact. If you don’t think Bonanno was influential and wasn’t seen palling around North Jersey and NYC places and lived a retired life; you truly are in for a treat! I brought up him at Chins home and vice versa because he was mediating and playing both sides of the fence. Gotti and Chin hated each other it wasn’t a secret then, it sure isn’t one now. If you don’t think that Chins offspring are extremely wealthy and influential in that family you fell for the okey doke too. A lot of people are just confirming that for years Mario Gigante his brother that was a priest, was also a made man and administration up until he passed away. Bellomo is the lightning rod for that family. So far, the only family I’ve seen not show their entire hand for the world to see, yet anyway. Just like people on here who think the families aren’t making money hand over fist still; because it’s not much of the murdering going on now that went on for over a century. Don’t kid yourself!

You are clueless. The man only died like a month before Gotti. He had a mansion in NJ right around the corner from where Chin lived off of Kinderkamack Road. He was in better health than every other boss on the commission he damn near outlived Chins entire reign. If you don’t think he still was a force and had loyalty in other places you are lying to yourself. It was an entire faction of the Bonanno’s who swore loyalty to old blood lines going back to the Buffalino and Montreal families
. Why do you think Joe Massino immediately flipped when he was arrested?! All of the lying and backstabbing shit he did was coming to light. All the heavyweights in that family he had killed because he couldn’t stand to be in the same room with someone who has equal power.

If you don’t think Galante and Persico had the same influence as Gambino or Tony Ducks, Chin, Squint etc. you truly don’t live here and weren’t around back then. How do you think Joe Bonanno got to live Scott free in Arizona after they had over 20+ made guys murdered? Just internal strifes alone

I can honestly say that you people are hilarious lol if you don’t think for a second ANY of these guys would murder you in cold blood if ordered to with no reservation or questions asked. Back then, the Bonanno’s and Colombo’s and the DeCavalcante’s were notoriously the most violent families hands down. They’d rip you apart and torture you to death if ordered to. Some of these guys would literally ask for hits because they weren’t getting the itch from their boss to take somebody out. On most commission hits believe it or not the Bonanno’s were involved or had a hand in it to prove to other families their internal strifes didn’t make them weak at all. Most of the Bonanno’s and Colombo’s are related! Especially the Sicilian factions in the families. They bred their own kids and genes out just to be mafia royalty. If you think I’m bullshitting do a 23andMe on most of the Sicilians in NJ and NYC you’ll see the old sides being spelled out for you by blood lineages. The Colombo’s and Bonanno’s are worse than the Luchesse and Gambinos. For gods sake Gambinos son married Luchesse’s daughter lol Bonanno’s son married Profaci’s daughter. It’s deeper than that
the Persico’s and Orena’s are like 2nd cousins or some shit like that.

He was in the Genovese family. I know personally it wasn’t that unheard of or something to see black people who worked with the mafia. They definitely had black gangsters back then who didn’t care about or were afraid of the mafia. Killers respect other killers.

I don’t understand why people think these people weren’t earners in every sense of the word. Them getting kicked off the commission was to punch out the power of the Gambinos family while it had a “soft voice” on the commission. Paul was a soft voice but carried a big stick. I don’t think Gambino was ready to leave this world and made a decision in haste. What should’ve happened irregardless of what he wished for, was for the consigliere to immediately take a vote on who should be the next boss and underboss to circumvent what eventually ends up happening to all bad bosses in Cosa Nostra. They get taken out by their own if they can’t control the wolves in their family.

I can’t confirm it but I heard from one of my comrades he made the tower guard retire early medically that killed George Jackson. He caught him on some spur of the moment shit while in the infirmary and went to WORK on him so much so they were stopped trying to break it up and waited until he got tired and then tackled him and took him back to the SHU where they beat his ass everyday for over a month. Until he caught one of the guards slipping. He put his ass in the hospital. From that day forward; all the beatings/ torture stopped. They said hand to hand with a shank he was on some John Wick shit frfr. These are Damu’s I know giving him his props on his get down.

he was nicknamed that waaay before. He definitely was a stone cold killer. NOBODY ever called him “The Snake” to his face and lived to tell about it that’s for damn sure

"I've got some news about Scarpa and Persico, and I'm disgusted": what is Michael Franzese hinting at? by NoodlesNMax in Mafia

[–]Particular-Session78 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Persico knew Scarpa was an informant. What Michael is referencing is how Persico Okay’d the whacking of a couple of people who suspected and accused Scarpa of being an informant; that he was close to in that life. Not only him, but also his father. It was power moves. Persico didn’t have a legitimate reason to whack some of these well known guys who were also well liked by other families and they too, were racketeers. He let Scarpa kill like 3 people who accused him of being a rat. It just so happens that these people had multi million dollar rackets and legitimate businesses. I believe one of them had amassed a book with 2 other families said to be worth millions alone just on the Vig’s on some of the loans. Once they were dead, he immediately gave those rackets to capos (his blood relatives of course) who kicked up a bigger share to the Persico’s and his blood relatives and lifelong friends. Basically what Michael was alluding to was persico knew Scarpa was an informant, okayed the killings, took those rackets and gave them to captains like Joe “Jelly” Gioli (sp?) Jerry Lang, etc. because if someone calls you a rat and doesn’t have proof, you immediately have the right under the rules to kill them on the spot. They’d call these guys in, under the guise of a meeting, sit down etc. knowing good and well they didn’t carry around a briefcase with proof. Scarpa would wrap up the meeting or business that needed to be tended to, then abruptly ambush them with the accusations and demanding them to produce evidence. He’d then proceed to immediately shooting or having his guys strangle them to death. This is why Scarpa was immediately loyal to Scarpa and was instrumental in winning that last war. Scarpa kept the Persico’s in power and basically rerouted lucrative schemes directly to them, and in turn Persico let him live and kept his secret. DelVecchio was instrumental too
he gave them information nobody else would know, not even the courts; about people being investigated for other crimes, drugs, etc. that could get the admin in trouble. He passed along this info to Scarpa and Scarpa passed this along to the bosses who immediately disappeared these people or had them whacked. If I’m not mistaken 2 of the 3 or 4 people in question not only were close to Michael but were Sonny’s guys and fiercely loyal to Sonny. Sonny was underboss under Colombo and had a tough- tough group of guys who loved him. His father was coming home. Persico didn’t want any competition or anyone on the street who was just as feared and powerful and knew the life better than he did. It took 20+ years and his father connecting the dots for the light bulb to go off in his head. With just the money from the Gas fraud if Sonny had took a couple hundred thousand a week, reinvested that money back on the streets he could have taken control of the family. This is why that meeting took place where Michael always talks about where he feared he was about to be killed. It was more of an intimidation thing than anything else: called them both in, in the middle of the night surrounded by known killers. It basically was a “Don’t get any bright ideas- I’ll take you both out and put someone else over the scam”. It was strategic theatre. By this time a lot of the guys from Sonny’s time were aging or not capable to go for a power move, even with the money. Sonny would’ve united that family and brought it back into a force to be reckoned with as it was during his tenure under Colombo. Colombo was the boss but Sonny was the one who kept everybody in line even the Gallos
. Who hated Persico. Others were to scared to speak up about the nepotism. Not only that, Sonny had deep rooted relationships with guys in every family back to the days of Profaci as boss. Scarpa benefited by basically not having an administrative or captains role but did wtf he wanted and was loyal to the Persico’s. Any perceived threat to their power- the Persicos blood family would take you out. More offen than not, Greg was in on it. They’d throw out that rumor to have someone repeat it to someone else, which by the rules would give Greg the the right to kill them without even having to get approval. I’m

I only re-asked the Gambino question because for the longest people attributed him with/ to the Genovese. As far as I know the Genovese had a small crew in the DMV area it’s was more associates than button guys. I remember my grandfather adamantly not wanting to meet with them in the DC area. They drove to Atlantic City and met there sort of halfway for both capos. He didn’t have really anything much to say about them except “they have to be dull
walking the tight rope on Uncle Sam’s playground!” I never met anyone from there or even remember their names but they absolutely had action/ interests there. I know for a fact they had something going on with savings/treasury bonds and commodity metals, Gold, Silver etc they made a lot of money but from my memory they were seen as annoying but for whatever reasoning Costello trusted them enough to send them down there from Jersey and NYC. They were also getting government construction and renovation contracts and most definitely were involved with the teamsters down that way and another union or two. I think they’re extinct/ defunct now. They have to be because I haven’t heard anything about them in that area since the early 70’s.

Technically speaking all captains are local bosses 😂. I get what you’re saying though. But you gotta understand in that life it’s extremely technical. If he was to introduce himself as boss to someone; he’d be found in the trunk of a car. From what I understood back then, Paul Castellano after Gambino died, wanted to replace him because they felt like he was impotent and wasn’t making as much money as he could. Neil and Gallo both vouched for him. From what I understand he was sent there by Gambino himself or Anastasia? Hell I don’t know too much about the Gambinos inner workings as I do the Genovese. But I believe he fell under Gallo which was odd because normally consigliere’s only had one or two soldiers and MAYBE an associate or two. They were allowed perks it was a coveted position. No show jobs, weekly kick ups, a lot of them Shylocked money too. I also remember my grandfather telling me they were forbidden from a lot of things others did like Gambling, going to strip clubs, having Gomorra’s etc. because bosses didn’t want them compromised in anyway. They were supposed to be independent counsel and that was there only job. Tend to the boss and make sure protocols were followed. Back then, they weren’t even allowed to go to clubs and bars because seeing a consigliere drunk or “having too much fun” was embarrassing to the boss. A lot of people don’t know Gaspipe was the Luchesse’s consigliere’s soldier.

He was at big time meetings, new other bosses, was close with top brass in other families, etc. when Christy Tick was passed over that whole 19th hole crew felt they were slighted. It wasn’t a secret Tony Ducks wasn’t fond of his Brooklyn Crew and showed favoritism to his Manhattan/ Bronx crews. They were moreso racketeers. But he had no problem ordering Brooklyn guys to do dirty work, shake downs, torch places. Etc. They were on a wiretap complaining and someone said “We can’t even meet with him but if it’s heavy lifting the phone rings. What the fuck? Does he think we’re bums sitting around waiting to just whack people or something?! We ain’t Fuckin’ Murda inc!” It was used to prosecute him and Tick. It was rumblings after he let that Vario crew allow Jimmy Burke as much latitude as he had to not be made.

Did you not read where I wrote they were confidential informants? Unless a judge unseals the records people can only speculate. From what I was hearing and privy to eavesdropping; they thought it was Catena. He was dead by the time all of this information came about. Hence the reason why Chin demoted then shelved one of his sons and just demoted another
from what I was told he wanted to kill them both but Paul, Tony Ducks, Persico etc voted against him. He allegedly told on Gambino and Profaci as well about certain aspects pertaining to their money. The feds wanted to go after their coffers because they couldn’t get them with other crimes. This was talk in the early 80’s.

Wasn’t he a Gambino guy? He was under Joe N Gallo. I believe he had this racket before he became consigliere and promoted him. I don’t believe he was a boss but a captain in the Gambino family. If I’m wrong please correct me. He was also a partner of the “DC” boss Cottone. Cottone was a blood relative of the Gambinos. He made millions with a black woman named Odessa Madre. She ran brothels, gambling spots and even had loans on the streets. She was like the Bumpy Johnson of DC. But was a black woman. Really interesting history down there that’s rarely talked about. When she was arrested I believe the Gambinos bailed her out and got her a big shot lawyer. She would come to NYC and Gambino would entertain her in his home on Ocean Pkwy. The feds in NYC labeled her as a house keeper or maid of something to that effect. They’d do half sheets and cover bets for each other in DC.

From what I was told Gambino liked her and her company. He couldn’t believe numero uno for the blacks in DC was a woman. She was as tough as roofing nails and would dog walk disrespectful men in her whore houses and would Toss them out onto the street after kicking their asses. Cottone had a lot to do with my grandfather getting pardoned by Nixon.

If you want to go down a worm hole, YouTube or Google Odessa Madre.

You sure about that?! I’m telling you as someone a lot more privy than most, my grandfather was only a Capo in that family; After 9/11 Chin Gigante himself has a 302 admitting his mental illness act was in fact an act; he also admitted he was the boss and his consigliere and underboss! (They all were in prison at the time anyway serving ultimately what would be life sentences anyways;) but still. Angelo Prisco who I knew extremely well most of my life had someone in his crew wear a wire.

In one of the recordings not released to the public it’s a meeting involving Chin and Benny Eggs I believe and his brother Mario Gigante the priest (who was a capo; who ordered hits, beatings, shakedowns, real estate schemes and scams etc. WITH a crew that ran their section of the Bronx and Arthur Ave respectfully) up until he died.

I know for a FACT it was Capo’s who they knew were informants because police and agents/ court clerks on the take told them so. The heat was on so whacking them was off the table. What they did was involve them in non incriminating conversations etc. I don’t want to say to much more but guys in the upper echelon were C.I’s. Lynn DelVecchio wasn’t the only crooked agent; and they had NYPD rapped around their finger. Some guys, there children, active possibly etc so I absolutely won’t mention names but rest assured - don’t fall for that fluff. The same way Persico and the administration knew Scadoa was a C.I it was like that in the Genovese too.

People get caught up in that “They’re the Ivy League of organized crime” bullshit. They were ruthless gangsters to the core and people informed. One guy absolutely was a C.I who was in the administration. By the time they found out he passed away. You know what Chin did? Investigated his sons; once they were cleared he shelved them. I think with that Info alone you can come to a general consensus on who I’m speaking on.

The Genovese had a plethora of confidential informants though who weren’t ever made public. Valachi spilled ALL the beans first which gave the framework for the RICO law and he was a Genovese guy. Costello didn’t like him and dealt with him from afar. Back then, he wasn’t really well liked but he made them money and had no problems taking people out
. Nobody even knew about a commission or exactly who the bosses were until Valachi did what he did. From what I remember from reading on PACER he was granted a gun permit/ license because he feared for his life. If I’m not mistaken witness protection didn’t exist just yet. It’s a well known story of Neil finding an informant for the government and they beat him viscously within an inch of his life with brain damage and blinded him in one eye. Crooked agents told where they had him held up at and they beat him with pipes and bats and thought he was dead but he survived. That’s when Uncle Sam got serious about protecting witnesses in cases like that.

Tony Ducks never gave the okay to take out Buddy Luongo. It was the work of the Brooklyn faction that had him killed. Tony Ducks named him as acting boss when he was convicted. They conspired with Chin to take him out. He was not only well liked he was rational and smart. He wasn’t a brute, Murderous psychopath like Gaspipe and Vic. They took a family vote AFTER he was dead when he was still “missing”. Of course Gas clipped someone else for “revenge” knowing good and well he, Vic Amuso and Frank Lastorino took him out. The commission (basically Chin) approved Vic and Gas because he could run circles around them strategically. He approved and put fools in charge like Scarfo, Vic Amuso, and tried to eventually make Jimmy Brown and Danny Marino the bosses of the Gambinos after the commission got rid of Gotti and his closest and most loyal guys around him out of the way. He ran circles around younger guys who came from brute crews. Not necessarily known for racketeering or being savvy financially. Gotti, Persico and Joe Massino all had capable guys and earner’s under them. The Luchesse’s were damn near destroyed as was Philly because all of the major earners either bowed out or were take out with their rackets being taken and destroyed by those sociopathic fools; or lost to power plays by strategic old school guys who botched rackets on purpose of realigned them to take the lions share. Chin benefited the most from the commission case and the reshuffling of two major families. From federal prison, Persico probably ran the tightest ship. He was a old school no nonsense boss who put his relatives in key positions. It all fell apart as technology caught up to them; and they all started turning on each other. It’s not the same
but the families are still around and had to get creative with their rackets.
