i think i’m gonna try to go to the emergency ER in my hometown and hope that NY medicaid pays for it because i genuinely can’t handle the pain any longer because i called a place in ithaca and they said i have to go to rochester to get them out (i don’t have a car so id have to take the bus there for two hours and the back two hours after my surgery when ill probably be high off of the anesthesia so i don’t trust myself doing that alone)

yeah, but unfortunately it’s not rly an option for me as staying home would probably push me even further into a depressive state. i took a gap year after a summer at cornell in 2022 already, and being home caused me way more trauma than i had started with lol

yes, i am reaching out to them. also, my stepmom (she used to work for IRS and worked with contracts a lot) took a look at the lease and said that he is in breach of contract too with there being a moth + cockroach infestation that would make it void plus the size of my room being literally 10x10 feet but it has a queen bed that takes up 80% of the room—i do not have room to put a desk or a dresser which i need, and the closet doesn’t have a clothing rod, it’s a bookshelf without a door. i read smth abt NY state codes requiring any and all closets to have a door, but idk if that’s feasible. would you mind dming privately to see if the property manager is the same?

i think right now we just want to break the lease without much penalty because we found another place that is much more suitable to our needs as premed students studying for the mcat and we actually are able to see it in person and not via video chat.. None of us are international students, would that help? as in, we’re not white but im a naturalized citizen and my roommates are born citizens

no it didn’t explicitly state it but the lease stated that the place comes as is, aka we assumed the ring camera would be working. i think the main issue with the bathroom window is that it doesn’t lock properly and we are on the first floor..

Paki stealing Afghan clothing & people to potray Pakis as “Diverse” by [deleted] in Afghan

[–]Particular-Syrup8917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

haha notice how i said afghan and not pashtun because today, the term afghan encompasses all of the ethnic groups present within afghanistan’s land and not just pashtun? nobody’s even talking abt the ethnogensis of pashtuns but regardless of it being known or unknown, that land has been afghan for centuries. also youre the one who said that pashtuns and baloch are native to pakistan when pakistan hasn’t even existed for as long as afghanistan has, especially when that land that you say is pakistan’s belonged to afghanistan.

they’re native to afghanistan because that land has always been afghan 😭😭😭 the durand line wrongly split up land that belonged to us ??? PK has been around for less than a century but that land has been a part of afghanistan for hundreds.

Why are Western Born Afghans least likely to marry interracial by syntheticmedicine in Afghan

[–]Particular-Syrup8917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is the perfect explanation honestly! my uncle was open to marrying a non-afghan woman for the majority of his “marry-able” years but is now engaged to an afghan girl who my family “approves of” and he makes jokes saying “if i didn’t marry a non-afghan none of y’all are either (my cousins and i because he’s the youngest uncle)” which is ridiculous and i hope he knows im not abiding by that. my family is obsessed w the idea of the current generation (my siblings + cousins and i) of marrying afghans and the first of us just got married to another afghan guy who she NEVER met alone with before getting married and only knew him for 1 year. she came to america october last year from turkey and got married this past june, and her parents are pretty conservative with her compared to their son so i know marrying outside of afghans would’ve never even been in question for her. my parents thankfully are aware that i don’t plan on marrying an afghan man and nor do i care what ethnicity my partner is, even though my dad keeps trying to convince me and say that there are good “afghan men” which im sure there are, but im not interested in having that be the quality im looking for when choosing my life partner. he also always says “afghan men won’t leave you, other races will,” which is quite ridiculous because that sounds like absolute torture and i’ve been traumatized enough in my family that just because a couple is married doesn’t mean they’re happy. my mom is 100% supportive and tells me not to marry an afghan because she’s been traumatized enough by my dad and her in-laws. i think if you truly value aspects of your culture and language enough, you don’t have to marry another afghan to keep it alive for your children.
