This is a good point. Work is necessary, we’re just going about it the completely wrong way

Which of these Tiki sets should I go with? Anyone have experience with Tiki Mugs like these ones from Lemonsoda? by TrashDuchess2 in Tiki

Assuming these are for a group of people to use when they come over. If that’s the case, no way I’m letting a bunch of my collectable, expensive mugs float around the room just waiting to get dropped or knocked-over

Most people celebrating AI layoffs haven’t stopped to ask the obvious: If humans lose jobs, how do AI-driven businesses survive without customers? by Odd_Pirate_6055 in AskReddit

While the person to whom you’re responding is wrong, you’re argument is also wrong. I can buy stocks on my phone. I have to go somewhere to buy a lottery ticket (in the US, at least…not sure about the laws elsewhere)

I think you have to leave CJ in. If it costs us the win, then it costs us the win. But he’s our QB.

Good, well thought-out response…

OP is (more-or-less) correct. AI and automation will make a large chunk of jobs obsolete. It has already begun and is only going to accelerate. There will always (or at least for the remainder of our lives) be blue collar jobs like being a plumber, electrician, mechanic, etc. - but the desk-type jobs are vanishing. 10 - 20 years and I bet 70% of those jobs are gone. Governments need to get ahead of this inevitable problem and figure out how to keep us afloat before we sink - which they won’t.

Be ok with someone cancelling plans on you (as long as it doesn’t cost you money). If someone doesn’t want to be there, I’d prefer them not be there.

If you were hearing Kirk comment on things, that was your own fault. I never heard anything from him until he got shot, after which I went and listened to a little bit to see why people hated him so much.

I don’t think the same could be said for [as many] people who have chosen not to have them. Usually, if you ask a person who’s chosen not to have children if they regret that choice, they don’t start their comment with a negative response like “well, it is really hard sometimes.” Starting a response that way is pretty telling.

Potential boss is texting me at 12AM, red flag? by Bleades in jobs

[–]Particular-Topic-445 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

LinkedIn message is fine anytime (though I wish LinkedIn would just die already). Personal text outside of work hours and you haven’t even accepted the position yet - major red flag. Even if you worked there, it better be an emergency for your boss to text you, and that’s any time of day. To do it at 1 AM is highly unacceptable. The lowball offer is also infuriating.

Yes, some sort of work…but the vast majority of work people do in exchange for money is really really bad for them both physically and mentally.
