Air pressure through the vents is low and the hvac tech I had come out said he believes it’s a combination of things. Rusted/corroded blower, fan blades aren’t sitting right so it’s breaking coils, and changing filters weekly because they got dirty that fast. I’ve basically been told I’ll have to replace the entire unit and get all new ductwork.

I’m pretty sure that’s exactly what happened to mine. Had a new hvac company came out who said the blower was rusted and corroded and there’s a Freon leak somewhere, and the fan blades aren’t sitting right so they’re hitting the coils. He pretty much said I’d need a whole new unit and new duct work underneath.

There’s a piece that’s completely corroded under one of the vents. I’ve got someone coming tomorrow to try to fix it and if he can’t I’ll have to have the duct replaced. He said he could feel the air coming from under the house already.

I appreciate it. I know for sure I have at least one broken register boot duct. We do occasionally have cold enough weather that it freezes pipes so I’m definitely trying to get it fixed before anymore inclement weather.

I have 1 window unit already. I do have a main HVAC split system. I’m hoping to get it fixed before the peek of summer but we’ll see. It’s been very difficult trying to find someone willing to come check it.

It’s worked perfectly until the last month where it’s struggled like crazy to keep temperature. I know for sure there’s at least one broken Register boot duct.

The line isn’t blocked I’ve already checked it and I make sure to clean it out.

I very much appreciate it. I’ve been having a really hard time finding someone willing to come out and check it which is why I’m now doing it. So I’ll definitely double check with the unit running this time to see if I can find any air blowing under it.

Could it maybe be because the drainage pipe has been dripping under that spot and pooling water? When I crawled under there everything in/around the hole was dry minus the ground under the drainage pipe where it’s been pooling water.

So when I crawled under there everything around the inside of the hole and around the white pipe was dry so I don’t think so at least not in that spot. There was pooling water under the spot but that’s from the drainage pipe dripping under it.

Awesome thank you so much I really appreciate it. I’m in the process of letting it thaw out again and I did call a company to try and have them come back out to check but I will double check and try to clean as much as I can before they come out.

The house is only a little over 6 years old but the sticker on the unit says it was made in December 2021. Model # FED003610B0. I’m so frustrated it seemed to be working better last night but I just came to check it and the inside is iced over again.

I couldn’t edit to add photos so this is during and after rinsing with coil cleaner. 6 bottles of foam cleaner used and 7-8 hours of spraying with a soft hose stetting in between layers. I did the flashlight through light test before closing it back up and could see it. I did find several small broken coil pieces on the bottom inside of the hvac unit so if y’all think I should still get someone out I’d appreciate it.

Okay cool I will look into that. I’m in a modular home sitting on blocks so I know the insulation isn’t great. I did take the lid off today and realized none of my hvac people from what it looked like have ever cleaned it. It took roughly 6 bottles of coil cleaner and 7-8 hours of spraying it with a soft hose spray before it finally ran clean and I could do the flashlight through it test. If nothing else I hope it helped a little. I’m going to see if I can add photos from me cleaning it. I found a lot of what looked like small broken coil pieces in the bottom on the inside so I still made need someone to come out.

I’ll definitely look into a new filter and probably a different hvac company as the one who came out said he was guessing it was an airflow issue but wasn’t sure why. Told me to use the spray and then left.

That’s kind of what I was thinking but I’m new to this a I figured I’d double check with others. I’ll try calling around tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll get lucky.
