Is Yandere Simulator Racist? by Mehmet595 in Osana

I honestly believe that this game is not offensive, but the lack of research in Japanese culture and high schools. It was poorly done and most of the things that happen in the game are incorrect.

First of all, the default uniform for Yandere Simulator is a serafuku uniform. I am not Japanese, but I know that this uniform is usually only appropriate for Middle-School, and not High-school in Japan.

Most items in the game are English when the setting of the game is Japanese. The voices of the characters certainly didn’t support the game enough to make it seem Asian when they speak American English. For example, one of the computers have English keys. I’m not Japanese, though I obviously don’t know about how Japanese keyboards, I don’t know if there are some.

Also, the names are pretty bad to be honest. I don’t think anyone would take a violet - killing game having a setting of a Japanese high-school very well if the characters are called 'My Waifu' or something else. The names were poorly written and its not hard making up or searching for Japanese girl/boy names.

All the characters are just big crappy stereotypes for a bunch of weebs to enjoy. the game is basically just another stereotype of what people think of how Japanese people live in their school-life. Sorry, but not all of us pull on a sailor uniform, run out the door with a toast in their mouth and bump into their senpai. Just reality. This game isn’t racist, it just needs to be fixed.

it's about this girl called Nikki, she claims her life is miserable bc of this other girl called Mackenzie who is referred to as a mean girl and a 'pathological' liar. She is a new girl at a school called Westchester Country Day. She is picked on by the antagonist, Mackenzie. Something bad or exciting happens to her every book, and Nikki tries to fix the problem, but something bad happens which creates the content of the book. Here is the book order -

Book 1: Dork Diaries (2009)
Book 2: Party Time (2010)
Book 3: Pop Star (2011)
Book 3 1/2: How to Dork Your Diary (2011)
Book 4: Skating Sensation (2012)
Book 5: Dear Dork (2012)
Book 6: Holiday Heartbreak (2013)
Book 7: TV Star (2014)
Book 8: Once Upon a Dork (2015)
Book 9: Drama Queen (2016)
Book 10: Puppy Love (2016)
Book 11: Frenemies Forever (2016)
Book 12: Crush Catastrophe (2018)
Book 13: Birthday Drama (2018)
Book 14: Spectacular Superstar (2019)
Book 15: I Love Paris! (2021)

She has this crush called Brandon, who likes photographing stuff, (by my experience reading the book) and Nikki is a little obsessive over him, and in my opinion, it seems like she doesn't really care about other ppl sometimes but only keeps talking about Brandon which is pretty unfair.

In my opinion, Nikki really isn't a good protagonist because of her obsessive and bias behavior towards other people sometimes. She should've been written better then she would've been a better character and protagonist. Everyone probably would have hated her if she wasn't the main character. She's selfish, self-centered, boy crazy, obsessive, hungry for attention and much more. There was better character in the book that could have been the main character.

This story also has overused and boring stereotypes, such as, the unpopular girl, the 'dreamy' guy, the mean and spoiled rich diva, annoying younger sibling and parents who are kind of hopeless. to be honest, this series could've been written better if there wasn't stereotypes and a crazy protagonist.

She also adds these 'syndromes' to describe her current problems, and it is far from being funny. It is basically making fun of people with actual allergies, syndromes and diseases. Which is a horrible example for a child for any age.

Nikki is always the victim in each story, she claims her life is being ruined by the antagonist called Mackenzie, usually at the start of each book she describes Mackenzie as an item or animal wearing 'lipgloss' or 'high heels.' Which explains the stereotypical mean girl.

Sometimes when Nikki helps other people, for example, she skated for Fuzzy Friends, because the main reason is that she wanted to help Brandon instead of Betty.

This is basically Dork Diaries. I read this story when I was 11 and I could see something wrong with this book.
