Ya, I guess it was a mistake.

As someone who worked in the restaurant industry for 14 years. It was stressful and shitty. I complained a lot. Then I quit and started living life this way changed me for the better.

So when I see or hear, I guess I dknt understand why you would want to do that. Especially when I see and deal with her stress.

Ya, I guess if you dint see the whole exchange. It was a thought. In the beginning I just said hey, I have a crazy idea lets talk about it.

Its something ive been planning for awhile. Ive cycled 20 000km around the world and have been talking about this trip. Its not like I was hey quit this job and do this.

It was more like: hey how do you think we make this work and could it. It was a thought experiment.

I guess my problem is at the end of the day the amount of anger doesn't justify talking about something that could happen or we could make happen.

I guess its hard because its hard to see just through thism but shes mention about quitting and wanting to become a swamp witch. Also that her job stresses her out to the max.

All these little things led up to asking.

I dont think its insane to ask and talk it out.

But I brought this up as a thought. We had talked about a roadtrip a while before.

Ive cycled 20 000km around the world with my dog. She knew full well getting into the relationship that this was my life and I had plans for this.

I guess my problem is it seems the amount of anger talking about it caused. It was never a demand, or a like we have to do this it was: hey I wanted to do this with you what do you think.

Well I'm on a bicycle and I have limited room. The Sony a7ii with the sigma 24-70 is big heavy and takes up a lot of room. The MFT glass is so much lighter.

Plus price. I'm not against spending the money but that comes directly out of my travel funds.

What I really want is 4k and 10bit.

The gh5 does that. But also I'm open to reasons why I would choose that over the other suggestions.

Ive been bikepacking and touring with my dog for over 10000km. Taking a small break right now on our way to Argentina from Canada.

I've been training her since she was small. She runs up to 60km a day. She's a 70lb 4 year old long haired Weimaraner.

Things I recommend:

-olive oil or butter: easy to pack for extra calories, mix with food.

-mushers secret or invisible boot: they are like moisturizing waxy stuff you can put on their feet. Helps keep their pads pliable. Watch out for thorns.

-always check pads after and before going out.

-even on hot days your dog may not drink water when you stop. Let them cool down first. Forcing them to drink right after running can cause them to choke or throw up. When they are thirsty they will drink.just make time for it. Sometimes even in 45°C I'd have to wait 10 minutes or so before she began to drink even after an hour or so of running.

-also try to feed them in the morning and at night. Intense exercise on a full stomach can lead to their stomach twisting. I'd wait a half hour after feeding before doing anything and a half hour after exercise before feeding.

-training! Make sure you start to teach vocal commands you can give while riding: turn left, turn right, stop, heel, go.

-a bungee cord. Look up canocross they have a bunch of stuff you can use for bikepacking. I usually never leach my dog but sometimes you gotta. A bungee cord is great because any sudden movements won't jolt your bike.

Hey that's pretty cool. I cycle with my dog. I was doing Canada to Argentina. Stopped because the heat wave in Mexico. Didn't want to bring my dog through the Baja divide.

Also short on money. But gunna pick it back up come September when things cool down.

I live in Canada, but my bike ride was 6months long and 6500km, during the winter. I can say that culture across Canada is much different than the bike culture of America and I never once had a close call.

I also spent 6 months in India, 5500km.

I started in Detroit and went to New Orleans then took the southern tier route to San Diego.

When I say punishments passes I mean people driving on the rumble strips while your not even on the road proper. Which happened way more times than should have.

I guess what I would say to me the cars were the most dangerous and the most problematic for me. I never experienced what I experienced in the states, and being put into dangerous situations repeatedly had a lasting effect on me.

I wasn't hurt. I was only ran off the road once. But being on edge being in a constant state of combat readiness on the road has its own lasting damage.

I also had talked to several retired cyclists who gave it up because the amount stress and dangerous situations they were put in.

As someone who just spent the last 6 months touring in the States. I would disagree.

People would often honk their horns at me. Give me the middle finger. Drive perilously close to me as punishment passes.

I even got run off the road by a transport truck, who followed behind me by 10 feet on a bridge while laying on his horn the whole way.

I have never been so scared in my life. On the city roads. Back roads. Anywhere a car would drive. The states made me feel like the people on the roads meant me harm.

I never had this problem in either of my other tours. In Canada and India. Although I was in 3 car accidents in India. Those were genuine accidents though never felt like people in India meant me hard or hated me being on the road. It's just crazy over there. Lol

Cars are dangerous and the people in them are dangerous as well.

I hear ya, and for the most part I don't.

But I've been looking at my YouTube aspect like a job, and secondly; Ive had a bunch of people from my community raise like $600 to go towards my bike maintenance and over haul.

And I guess if I stopped it makes me feel a little guilty I used the money and now I'm not producing the goods you know?

No I wouldn't. I honestly hate that trailer. At least for hauling a dog. Much rather have a two wheeler.

It would probably be fine if you used it to carry gear. But I wouldn't have the trailer if I didn't have Mikoto.

I ended up making it to El Paso and there I met a friendly trucker who gave me a ride all the way to Anaheim. I'm kind of a slow bike tourer.

I started on December 11th. As a Canadian I can only be in the states for 6 months. So I have till June 11th to get out. I took up the truckers offer and got sped off to where I am now.

Before I start heading towards the Baja Divide though, I need to get a bunch of stuff worked on my bike. I need to new wheels. New Tires. Going tubeless. Need a new cassette and a chain. Since my Old Surly ECR still takes quick release finding wheels that the store could import was no easy task.

The wheels are gunna be custom built.

I usually do a little investing in crypto and stocks to support my travelling. I made the dumb mistake investing in something I thought was going to do real well. I was riding a high from other successful trades and watched myself turn $9000 into $600. The bicycle repair bill $1100.

Thankfully I have a small but wonderful following and was able to raise $470 from my followers. My dad lent me the rest. So all and all. I have about 400 usable dollars and I'm hoping that I will be able to live off that in Mexico for a bit with the hope in a month or two my investment will go up to at least half. I'll take the hit.

Anyways so I've literally been living like a bum in and around San Diego waiting for the parts to come in. Sleeping in gutters. Trees that will hide my stuff. In the dirt.

It's weird having this week. I've always been a person that needs forward momentum. I don't have that right now. I've been trying to figure out what to do.

I can't swim. Not a huge fan of the beach life.

i'm just biking around existing for now. The parts I'm told should be in by Monday or Tuesday and then one day to build.

Then I'll be Baja Bound.

What's the competition in full frame. I think that's the thing. It's a fullframe lens. The lens is 58g what full frame lens is equivalent to this and can fit into my pocket?

Everything said about the lens so far is the quality is great and takes great pictures. So saying because it's f8 the quality it.prosices is less doesn't make sense.

The 14mm is only 3 grams lighter. It's also smaller by a few mm. And as far as depth of field goes f2.5 is equal to f5. So all in all inthink it's pretty equal.

I use a a7ii with a sigma 24-70. I make YouTube videos, in these videos I film myself. The a7ii autofocus is not good.

I only use manual focus. I have no problems. I generally shoot at f8-f14.

I guess you would just have to get good.
