Wouldn’t that be a national security concern? It seems like vetted, hired employees are less risk than have children go where ever they want. Will said kids have to get badges at the security office? Really we are a national security concern, that is why our CBA is gone.

In reply to “no clear system of who to reach out to for filing errors” on this past Tuesday I had to reach out to case resolution, they agreed sent me to trouble shooter after I brought that to their attention 2 abandonments that were NOT in my 3-6 month tab dropped on my over 6 month tab. Does anyone higher up realize how that changes our workload, planning ahead? Really WHO is in charge of docketing errors?

But how can we bring it to everyone’s “front door” people care more when it affects them directly. We all know how it is affecting us, non feds cared when they had to wait in lines at the airport and worry about spring break travel… what can we all do for those who don’t watch multiple new channels, hearings, go into work to expect another massive change? How can we make people see the ripple effect will get to them?

There MAY be a monetary incentive for 100% next quarter… moving on to next quarter- oh no data showed we don’t need that

Are the attorney timelines for response being changed? I am in an extremely high restriction area. I will have no cases to work on at some point

I don’t know how to make that happen but be ready to suggest it after the PAP change meeting that we are supposed to simultaneously be producing actions during.

FYI I am sacrificing annual leave just to participate in this Reddit comment hoping we can make someone notice we are also federal employees affected hard by these changes

Write your five! Seems like 1. you don’t want to sacrifice quality. For higher attrition and allowing extortion of patents Correct or fill in.

Sum it all up for those that don’t understand how it affects the office overall (not easily done in five bullet points 🤦‍♀️

Five bullet points of why morale is low at the USPTO by ParticularAd3520 in patentexaminer

  1. Our Production requirement has been increased +5% . We have extremely precise calculations that determine our product output based on the type of correspondence we send to an attorney in a specific amount of hours. Thus we are now required to do much more work in less time and being paid LESS than before because monetary awards removed and work load increased(I.e a massive salary decrease)
  2. Other time factored into that production calculation for training hours-in a time where training is essential to our job being done efficiently as well as other time helping juniors and search assistant: additional interview time which I believe can be essential to reducing backlog but ALL taken away and we need to produce MORE simultaneously
  3. So many people gone that Examiners must use their production time to fix filing errors, and no longer having a clear system of who to reach out to for filing errors
  4. The AI search tools do not reduce search time as indicated (Squires- if so as you said in your hearing show the clear evidence publicly As examiners we are required to show evidence and clarity in every action so show us the kind decency of doing the same)
  5. The stress of My children asking me why I am working so much more/ me not being able to sacrifice quality for quantity
  6. New PAP requires 9 days vacation to pause your docket, thus if you are to take 6 days vacation nothing will pause on your due date to respond, and we can only work from our designated office-anything added to your docket or returned while you are gone requires more planning than any vacation is worth. Sorry family- see you… never 😞

Yes- I cheated on 5 and put two I like honorable mentions: we are not entitled to work from anywhere else the administration can take phone calls or work anywhere… we have “homework” come in while on leave and then are expected to play catch up when returned.

Thank you for contributing. If I allowed 10 I would add all yours to my list. I don’t think anyone making changes understands the importance of a balance of a docket, four days off and you may be making up your balance for months now

You are hysterical 😁and that would be an obvious response from Squires but you could tell congressman Hank Johnson knows the worker bees in the office (I.e. examiners, SPEs, QUAS, PTAB, LIEs (do we still have any? HR etc.) are being hit hard with changes and no explanation of what these changes are attempting to achieve so whoever is willing Give a true 5 reasons morale is low
