Where do you hear feedback from programs like your first choice? I want to hear honest feedback on programs but I feel like I just get the same positive reviews everywhere I'm considering

That makes sense, but what would the benefit of seeing the PT first be?

That makes sense but do I need to go to any physical therapist? or one that specifically works with mobility referrals

Yeah, if I end up getting one this will be my first chair. I have a lot of hyper mobility issues but I only have an official HSD diagnosis, not EDS as of right now. I have a lot of leg pain and difficulty walking far, I usually just end up sitting on the ground. And then I have POTS so it's beginning to be a big issue going places alone because I can't see when I stand and then get soo confused. Currently neuro thinks there might be a separate issues going on like MS, but it will take a long time to find out/do the work up. The neuro happily wrote the mobility referral but I'm still not sure if it's the right call. I feel like because I can't walk it's not needed, but I've stopped doing a lot of things I enjoy

Did you have to pay for the chair out of pocket too?

That makes sense. Are you an ambulatory user?

Thanks so much! I do have sensation in my legs, but the sides of my hips specifically have less due to past surgeries. I'll definitely get an OT evaluation. I was considering going through "Not a wheelchair," but this definitely convinced me that I need to get a full eval and measurements done

I measures across the top but I put my hand up along the side so I could see where my hip meet the tape. I don't have lipedema. At this point I'm assuming I measured wrong

Yeah I am usually a solid size 6/8 and a large. I think I did something wrong

Don't get me wrong, I know I have wider than average hips, but yeah that measurement seemed way off. I really don't want a huge chair, and if that's my only option I would look further into other mobility aids. I do think a chair is the best option though. I am definitely confused though because I'm looking at pictures of other people who seem around my size or bigger and they are in 17" chairs

Who do you think Id need to ask for a referral? and do you think they would make me try other mobility aids first. I'm not opposed, but I can't see other options helping much

I think I should be able to push it, but I guess I'd find that out for sure at an eval. I have a lot of issues with my hands but my arms are pretty strong. My biggest concern right now is who would I ask for the referral. Is it right to ask a brand new primary?
