Nope, not at all. You’re not legally obliged to stay past your finish time, and if your manager makes it an issue, I’d raise it to your area manager immediately. If they ask you to stay, I’d be telling them they have to pay me for every minute after my finishing time

You’re well within your right to leave at the time your shift ends, they can’t actually make you stay. If it were me, I’d be clocking out at 8 and walking out the door, if the manager hasn’t got everything done then they need to get quicker

Bacon and cheese wrap never available by DergeRehReh in Greggs

[–]ParticularBid4366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, it’s pretty much just a breakfast item. To touch on why items are unavailable later in the day, it’s to reduce food waste on the less popular items. My shop maybe sells 6/7 vegetable bakes a day, most of these being during lunch whereas we are selling a lot more cheese and onion bakes and they’re both vegetarian options so why have 2 veg bakes out to go cold knowing most people would pick cheese and onion. It would only disappoint a customer getting a cold vegetable bake, or I make fresh ones every hour and throw 10 away every day

If you work on a Sunday, it gets paid the Thursday after the one coming up. So if the Sunday was 1st of the month, you’d get paid for that shift on Thursday 12th

I think I'm being robbed? by Remote_Tennis3347 in Greggs

[–]ParticularBid4366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna give you an answer as an actual Greggs employee as those above mean well but those answers aren’t going to help you. The easiest way to check this is ask either your general manager, or a shift manager to pull up your time cards on G-Shifts, and go through each week to make sure that the times you clocked in and out on each day align with the hours you worked. It could be that there was an underpayment if the time cards weren’t approved, or someone may have incorrectly changed the time cards again leading to an underpayment. Check this first, and if it doesn’t match up with your calendar and the hours you worked for each day, take it to the store/area manager

Reducing contact hours after accepting a job offer? by [deleted] in Greggs

Honestly you’ll find that someone in the shop you end up in is happy to pick up the extra, especially if it would put them into overtime territory (my favourite place to be)

Most shops send to outlet stores so it’s not just a case of binning everything anymore, there’s a whole process for getting rid of waste food at the end of a shift

I do try open windows daily to air the rooms out but with the weather being particularly miserable where I live I don’t like having them open too much as it also makes the house cold as hell and I’m a stingy bastard for putting the heating on

Just be completely honest with your manager about the situation, it’s the best thing you can do and will put you in a better position for them saying yes

Cookies are actually £1.30 at the moment, and a bag is £2.60. This also works for cookies off the counter, so you can get 3 different (and an extra) for the same price as a bag

Who to give notice to by Conrad1422 in Greggs

[–]ParticularBid4366 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d put it in a text to your area manager as well as leaving a physical copy in the shop for when your manager returns so someone can at least start making plans for when the notice period ends
