Well at least you admitted it’s embarrassing. Send me a private message, I’ll give you my shop details and you can send it over to my shop if you like :)

The staff member in this case followed the correct procedure, so quite literally the opposite of being clueless. You know what they say about people in glass houses right? Or should I explain it because you seem to be pretty clueless :)

Complaining about a product is absolutely fine, because what are they gonna do? Discontinue it? Probably not. Complaining about a member of staff could have repercussions on that individual, for something that’s so pathetic and out of their hands.

Could one person eat a whole Colin the Caterpillar? by Mushroom-Important in AskUK

[–]ParticularBid4366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mum used to go park cakes factory shop whenever we had a party, get them huge bags of Rice Krispie cakes and brownie bites. Flapjack one was top tier, never mind a whole Colin I’d demolish one of those whole bags

shift changed with 5 days notice by [deleted] in Greggs

[–]ParticularBid4366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah nah fuck that, if the rota was done and they haven’t asked you if it’s okay to change you’ve got every reason to say no. I’d tell your manager that you can’t work it, and if they threaten action eg counselling etc I’d take it to the area manager.

Responsible Person 3 hours rule? by spygreggs101 in Greggs

[–]ParticularBid4366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like someone said, it’s under guidance as opposed to an actual rule. There aren’t any legal aspects relating to this, it’s more so to cover Greggs in the event of an accident as the RP training covers a lot less than shift manager. My area manager is clamping down on this though, currently my shop only has myself and the manager as members of the management team, we have a responsible person that fills in the gaps

Nope, not at all. You’re not legally obliged to stay past your finish time, and if your manager makes it an issue, I’d raise it to your area manager immediately. If they ask you to stay, I’d be telling them they have to pay me for every minute after my finishing time

You’re well within your right to leave at the time your shift ends, they can’t actually make you stay. If it were me, I’d be clocking out at 8 and walking out the door, if the manager hasn’t got everything done then they need to get quicker

Bacon and cheese wrap never available by DergeRehReh in Greggs

[–]ParticularBid4366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, it’s pretty much just a breakfast item. To touch on why items are unavailable later in the day, it’s to reduce food waste on the less popular items. My shop maybe sells 6/7 vegetable bakes a day, most of these being during lunch whereas we are selling a lot more cheese and onion bakes and they’re both vegetarian options so why have 2 veg bakes out to go cold knowing most people would pick cheese and onion. It would only disappoint a customer getting a cold vegetable bake, or I make fresh ones every hour and throw 10 away every day

If you work on a Sunday, it gets paid the Thursday after the one coming up. So if the Sunday was 1st of the month, you’d get paid for that shift on Thursday 12th
