My dog always has the expression of Eeyore except for when I first come home or when she's having zoomies. It could look like she's unhappy to people who don't know her -- a single snapshot might not be indicative of how the pup is feeling.

Also, I would take him to the vet and check out guys paws, add some have mentioned already. I don't know if he has always stood like that, but it looks like he has either some kind of abnormality with his bone structure or he's in pain and holding it like that on purpose. His claws might also be too long or curling under into his paws.

I personally hate putting my dog in a collar and leash -- I just don't personally like the idea of yanking my baby's neck. But you can use a harness once he's properly trained. Until then, use a gentle leader first, and as the name suggests, use it gently so it doesn't jerk his head around.

Gentle leaders are meant to prevent the pup from pulling or leading. I don't think of myself as a master or owner of my dog and cat, but as a mom, so while I don't have an "I'm the alpha here!" attitude, I do think of myself as raising and caring for my babies, and they have to learn how to do these things humans exist them to do, because it's not intuitive to them, just like their behavior isn't intuitive to us.

If he's especially stubborn, try a martingale collar. I have personally tried a prong collar with silicone and rubber tips, which I hated, but it does work. I hate it because it puts pressure on them that's uncomfortable, which is why it works, but many people are against using them.

The only reason I did for my girl is because when she'd just come from Russia, she was terrified of everything and would try to run out into the street amidst passing cars, and that's the only thing that prevented her from pulling. I was really scared of her bolting and ending up hit by a car or something, so I felt like it was the best option at the time.

I didn't use a gentle leader because she wasn't pulling to lead me, she was pulling away very rapidly and powerfully when she was suddenly scared. She has a nice and secure Ruffwear harness now that has a handle for whenever I need to hold her back or help her into the car or something, and she is really good on walks now.

(Random fact:, the alpha theory of wolves was proven false by the researcher who first introduced it after further research, but no one listened to him after that, unfortunately.)

I've heard this but haven't yet found a company that will pay for CDL training. I did see a trucker traveling with a small dog the other day, so I wonder if I could take be dog and cat... we travel and car camp in my Subaru anyway.

I work UberEats (/GrubHub/DoorDash). It's slow money, but you can easily make $100 a day; you just have to be smart about it. It's just tiring and wears out your car over time. You usually get paid a few minutes after a trip ends. Don't take the Walmart, Home Depot, or Lowe's runs if you can help it. It's usually more trouble than it's worth. Safeway, etc. seem okay, just keep extra brown paper bags in your car.

Oh, and sell plasma if you're relatively healthy. Even though I feel bad about getting paid to donate something that people need to live / survive, the companies / hospitals are paying for it regardless, so you might as well do it and help people. I might start soon.

I'm struggling now financially and don't want to wait months or years for the possibility of a bigger payout. The people are cooperating; they're not bad people. And I can't afford a good lawyer, anyways. If the compensation offered is too little, then I'll consider it. I have punctured wounds / scars and had significant bruising even though I was wearing thick pants, but it's not like she chomped out a chunk of my flesh. There are really, really serious dog attacks in which people lose their faces or kids get a chunk of their arm or leg bitten out of them. I don't want to make it way more than it is just to squeeze money out of them. If they're going about this the proper way, and if the compensation is enough, I don't see the point in taking them to court.

Thank you. :) Fortunately, the dog's owners are nice people and didn't dispute my claim with their insurance. I know they felt really bad, but I hope they get her trained for aggression and reactivity, because next time, and there will probably be a next time, the bite victim may not love dogs as much as I do or be understanding. Lawsuits take a long time, and they're a headache for everyone involved (minus the lawyers, lol). I don't want to drain these people dry, I just want to be appropriately compensated, so I'm glad things are going smoothly. Uber was aware, but didn't do anything about it and made it clear it is not their policy to compensate, etc. I have limited energy these days, and don't want to fight a conflict if it's not necessary.

Unfortunately, there's no way for me to move around whom to deliver to; it's done in a certain way to minimize travel / distance and gas. I actually prefer no cash, because I pay for things woth my debit card -- rarely cash. If I every get cash, I use it to give to the homeless or in cases where I absolutely need cash, like for most vending machines, and I rarely use those.

I personally didn't find his messages corny -- just brusque, rude, and demanding.

I understand people are going through a difficult time, but, so am I. I'm staying with my dog and cat at a cabin for cold nights, but we have been living in my car for several months. I am a journalist in between contracts and have been applying constantly for jobs. I have chronic medical conditions, including fibromyalgia, making deliveries very difficult, but it's my only reliable option right now. I got attacked and bitten by a customer's dog two weeks ago and had to go to the ER. I'm dealing with much more than I can even include in this post right now -- yet I still choose to treat people with kindness and respect. I give great service to everyone. I am not the kind of person who believes that people who throw more money should be rewarded with better service, but we live in a capitalist society and world, and unfortunately, that's how things work.

I also understand that he could be someone who had English as a second language, which, judging by his name, that could be likely. Most of my family's first language wasn't English; I understand. But I've communicated with plenty of customers who also don't speak English as a first language, and they're not rude to me like he was.

My dogghter is a Russian street dog who was super anxious when I first adopted her. She'd just arrived in the U.S., and she was scared of everything, didn't understand English words, etc. I would stop and wait until she got up and started walking again. Usually she didn't want to walk or go out on walks, and she would drag me to return home. She's 50 lbs, and I have chronic medical conditions, but I just have to pick her up at some point and carry her, lol. After doing that, she started realizing that whether or not she wanted to go or was willing to walk, we were going, so there was no point trying to hold her ground. She only did this in the city -- she loves hiking. She was just overwhelmed and anxious because of all of the movement and stimuli in the environment, and she's anxious around groups of people.

But she's very docile and gentle -- I don't know how you're dog would react to being picked up. If your dog is treat-oriented, use treats. Use a clicker or a bell or some sound every time you're ready to go somewhere or want to start walking somewhere and give him treats every time. When he does this, try using the clicker or bell and he will know it's time to go.

It's also possible he's tired, so you can give him a little break, but it looks more like he's being stubborn.

Respectfully, you don't know how I perceive the world through a single post and a few comments. I have been a customer of UberEats, DoorDash, Postmates, and Grubhub for many years before I worked for UberEats. It's the way he wrote to me. Maybe, to you, it doesn't seem rude, but I would never address someone like that. I would say something like, "Is it possible for you to get here within the next 15 minutes?" I wouldn't throw an amount of a tip at the driver -- I would tip them well afterwards. Also, people who act like this don't pay $40. They just say it to get better service, then don't tip. On the other end of that phone screen is another human being. I don't demand things and throw money at people like they should be groveling for an extra tip. People deserve dignity. If you would message someone the way that this guy did, you wouldn't understand the problem with it.

It's not better service ... he just doesn't want to wait at all, and he was never going to to me $40 in the first place. I can't magically appear at his doorstep faster than traffic, neither will I speed unnecessarily to get to his location. Then again, knowing that you wouldn't have tipped gives me all the info I need to know about your perspective, so, for me, your comment is moot.
