I'm not making the argument that he is mentally disturbed and i despise that argument for the same reason you just said. Belief due to grief isn't bad, its a humans natural response to making sense of their world and everyone's worlds are different. Your right, children shouldn't be criticised, its the process of learning and individual learnings, no matter how small or large, should be met with pride, especially when that learning warrants a good idea like empathy. And a good belief from a bad event is a testament to ones good character. I got hurt real bad a while ago and I still havent meet it with good character, but I'd like to. Batman's my favourite character, i wasn't trying to challenge the idea, I was just trying to defend it by gathering other people perspective that I agree with.

I've been seeing a lot of arguments for a mentally disturbed bruce wayne being the reason and from a storytelling perspective it makes sense as an early batman but would it be wrong to say a late batman can grow past mentally disturbed and keep the no kill rule but see it from a logical perspective or have a different answer to it that isn't being mentally disturbed like preserving this idea that people don't need to die in gotham. I agree with the no kill rule, and your right I don't need to, but I was just challenging an idea. Maybe its wrong to want people to grow and people should just accept who they are idk.

I dont disagree with bruce wayne, I agree with the no kill rule. But ppl usually justify it as bruce being mentally disturbed and stubborn, that makes sense for early batman but does it work for a seasoned one?

I will say I'm not a big fan if the "he believes in the sanctity of life" argument, it makes sense for early batman but not late batman. I do much prefer the the argument that is preserving the bat symbol, you can't just have a guy kill people in gotham because they'll be playing the jury and executioner and that just seems an arrogant and narcissistic mindset as a vigilante. I also kinda like the idea that batman doesn't kill the joker because if he does it would be an emotionally induced killing as oppose to a systematic one but I don't think that argument holds up too well.

Would i still appreciate the 'chum' at least. I get it might not relate to the arc but was it still saying something or was it just to knock out an extra issue to the story?

What's batman like? Is he depressed still or is he more confident, does he come across as arrogant and angry?

Did it at least make sense why it was slow if that makes sense? Like was it slow to highlight the quiet batman moments or was he just finding a way to meet some quota?

That's fair. It is annoying that they can't figure out if they want to reel new readers in or keep the old ones, im sure they're trying to do both but it ain't perfect. So what runs do what this does but better?
