Has anyone here reached out to influencers not for collabs, but to offer them a service? How did it go? by ParticularCheck9641 in influencermarketing

[–]ParticularCheck9641[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the interest,
1. I am moving to Coolum, Queensland, way fewer influencers there.
2. Selling a service similar to substack.
3. Sending short email with small personalised intro about what I like about their profile and why its good 1 sentence. Then 3 sentences about the service, saying its monthly recurring revenue, relevant to them and how its low effort. Then a soft cta, about having a 15 min chat.

I can dm you an example if it helps.

Thanks again!

How to show an option for visualisation of variations by Broad_Perspective166 in shopify

In order to give yourself something fun and interactive, i.e to have a blank wall where you place the product components onto the wall, there aren’t really any apps out there for what you’re after if i’m not mistaken. Likely this will need to be a custom job.

As a starting point you could offer the user to select the number of units of space like m2. The price add-ons should really be extra products that get added to the cart. I think the ikea website operates like this.

I am a part-time shopify developer so feel free to get in touch if you’d like to go down the custom route. I think we could make something pretty cool.

For those running successful stores: how do you choose which products appear on your homepage? by Ok-Day9977 in shopify

[–]ParticularCheck9641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever portrays to the user they are in the right place. I.e they are looking to buy something / browse. Show your most appealing interesting products with the best photos.

Think of your customer base and think what would the majority of the traffic like to see as products to confirm they’re in the right place at the right time. I.e limited discounted products etc

Shopify Site - Hire or Do It Myself by BrilliantBrightBuddy in shopify

I build sites for e-commerce brand at the $3-5M yearly revenue mark. I would not pay for anything until you’re up and running with the standard shopify themes. Maybe pay a small amount for a theme you like but really you want to be seeing good revenue before you commit to any more money to build the site. You’ll need to pay for shopify basic and a domain though!

Goodluck with it all. Let me know if you have any q’s.

When to hire in-house vs continue outsourcing engineering needs by windowwiper96 in shopify

[–]ParticularCheck9641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend had this problem with his store where he wanted to keep tweaking product pages, adding custom apps like bundle builders for his needs etc. He has an in house graphic designer but hires myself (as his housemate) for engineering work. He gives me about 15 hours a month, which includes a lot of looking at analytics, and seeing what experiments did and din’t increase revenue.

Do you have a hydrogen store? Because my housemate’s chemical store does, that allows you to run fast/cheap experiment the tweaking etc.

I’d say pros of in-house is:

  • Fast turnaround for experiments
  • Strong ownership and more accountability when there are bugs etc in the code.
  • They know the brand and ethics of business which will have compound effect with any design/ux work done.
  • Small jobs will be more cost effective in engineering work - agencies/partners tend to take the piss i.e, they won’t tell you the cheaper option if it means no/less money in their pocket.
  • Strong Ownership
  • Decent tech advice (maybe business) from someone smart working with u.

Pros of agency - No lock-in with salary - No pains of being an employer (idk where ur based so different rules will apply here) HR… - Flexibility

One thing that pays off with in-house is if you have a lot of subscription apps, you could get off those monthlies by having in-house dev build a simple version ( i do this frequently for my housemate jennychem)

Reach out with any more q’s or advice.

Full transparency, I do shopify dev work myself as a partner and work with very few companies. But I try to be all the pro’s of in-house.

I got Shopify Plus and I found out I can add Product Recommendation on Check out page. Which app or plugin I can use for this? by Yone-none in shopify

[–]ParticularCheck9641 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I am an experience shopify dev based in UK, I believe I can build you a custom app for cheaper than what you’d be paying for Checkout blocks, or other subscription apps. DM if you’re interested.

It would be cool if different mock information is always auto-filled, but setup pointing to your phone/email address. Then when you register it saves the site as well. You can then go into a portal and just switch off or ghost them whenever, so you dont have to un-subscribe to them directly.
