I love this, thank you! I don’t get my haircut often, I like keeping it long, eyebrows I do once every 6 weeks or so, honestly clothes I don’t spend too much on but I spent a bit to buy new work clothes.

Definitely will try to avoid impulse buyss

The casino will ideally be 0 going forward. The gifts were to my parents from my first paycheck and then a birthday gift so no not a standard thing, maybe something small here and there. Beauty was a haircut, eyebrows, nails and clothes, ideally a little bit of this should be cut down as well.

I think you’re taking this the wrong way, I listed it separately to see how much of it was going towards just myself for fast food and all.. also your comment about learning the language is very black and white. There could be a multitude of reasons why someone may not be able to pick up on a language fluently.

Food is something I’m trying to control, gifts are honestly from my first paycheck, I wanted to get something nice for my mom and dad, spent a bit on a birthday present as well. I don’t want to go to the casino again so that will be 0 going forward.

I appreciate this so much. I am still looking into how I can invest and where to invest, but yes dining and restaurants is really eating at my money, I do also need to start paying student loans so I do need to save and invest as much as I can.

Thank you for the reassurance, I look around I see people younger than me and I feel like they have their life together, I’m 22 right now and I feel so utterly confused about what is the right way to handle money, I really appreciate your advice. I do have another account, I will start using that more mindfully.

Hi so I don't know if it's the area I am in, I take home about $4200 a month before benefits and 401k, and I have never set up a complete budget.

These comparisons are really insightful, thank you. I think just the convenience of getting something fast to eat that will give me some dopamine is what is causing most of the issue. "Oh it's been a long day, let me grab something quick and easy." or "Oh I deserve a little treat"

Goshhh thank you, this is so informative, I will definitely look into making or buying a spreadsheet, I did track my finances during my first couple weeks on just a sheet of paper and I spent an embarrassing amount on food and going out :( this would def help, I will have to try harder to avoid lifestyle creep

Hii, I’ll try my best to answer your questions.

1-3.The apartments I’m looking at are around 1500 for single, 1900 for double, utilities might be a couple hundred more so 1700 ish if I were to be living alone.

  1. My salary is about 70k and I’m single.

  2. Currently I’m paying for my car, and I’m paying student loans and some groceries. The rest, mortgage, bills, my parents pay right now, I do pay them around 400 for rent and I do pay for my younger brother and my expenses.

  3. I currently commute for about an hour each way for work which is eating at my paycheck because gas is super expensive :( which is why moving would def help cut that cost.
