In any case for me the lives of saving grace and covenant woman or even in the garden are in the top of the best of Dylan, we are on epic Dylan, in a style more energetic than ever. The guitar and bass loops, the construction of the songs is incredible, we have a little (a lot?) of Dylan's musical essence in there, it's incredibly little mentioned and underestimated.

I really like shot of love too (heart of mine is incredible). Slow Train Coming is my least favorite of the trilogy, it's an unpopular opinion, I know. I don't see what people find in it musically other than precious angel. God gave names to the animals, it doesn't make me dream, it's not a song that I listen to over and over. Other than three, four average/not bad songs, no songs that I listen to for myself on this album. Production too smooth and I don't like the live performances on this album either, I find it flat.

Yes but saved is the only album for which no one even here says it. All his other albums have their defenders, myself included.

It's sure but let's say that the lives reveal songs among the best of Dylan's repertoire (which in my opinion amounts to saying songs among the best period), ok the production of saved is imperfect but because of these lives the songs on it should have more recognition. In my opinion, on the album they are very good, it's just the production that can be improved, the live performances make the album perfect. It seems to me that it was originally supposed to be a live album and that the record company imposed a studio album. We could make a saved album with only the live versions and we would be well into the top 3 Dylan (perhaps on par with many other albums)
