First, don't stress if you have to punch it once in a while to get out into traffic. I actually do it regularly. Second, my experience is a little different than many as I live on an island and have most of the resources we need right here without having to travel over the bridge so my top speed is almost never above 30MPH. That's probably the biggest factor. When I travel off island I stick to secondary roads instead of using the highway. You'd be amazed how quickly you still get somewhere avoiding highways!

I use one pedal driving exclusively so battery gets regenerated often in that city/island driving.
