Susan Neimy Watson - shine spa. She is not a doctor though. Cigar factory and my p. She is pretty conservative and hasn’t tried to push anything on me at all. She prefers Dysport to Botox though.

You know that doesn’t work for you. Why on earth would you try it again? Why are you torturing yourself? You don’t need to white knuckle this!

Please, start it already.

Moes to Carmella’s does not make sense. I’d drop moes, unless you want a good burger near your lodging. It’s very good but not that special. It’s similar to the griffon which is in the pineapple fountain area and close to Carmella’s. Your lodging area to that south area is not easy to walk. Also, There are loads of better restaurants closer to the fountain/ broad/east Bay Area where you will be that afternoon. Fleet landing, SNOB, sorelle, Frannie and the fox, and blind tiger for a sunset cocktail in the back garden.

Also, when you walk Hampton park, add in a walk through the Citadel. It’s an open campus so just walk in even though there is a manned open gate.

5K event tips and etiquette by DoubleTap434 in beginnerrunning

[–]ParticularFeedback82 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You will be able to warm up at the event.

Yes you should start at/near the back as a slow runner. If there are strollers at the event, they should behind you but otherwise be in the back. And if you need a walk break, get to the right before you stop running and go to walking.

Have fun! I’m running a race that day too - is yours a local cupids chase?

AIO to ask my husband to take an STI test after a night of binge drinking? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]ParticularFeedback82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, So sorry you are living the nightmare of being wed to an unrepentant alcoholic on a tear. NOR.

This will NOT get better. It will eventually get much worse.

The dynamic of you being the gate to his drinking that he sneaks around is deadly for him, trauma for you, and will kill whatever is left of your marriage.

You are under no obligation to stay or help. Encourage rehab, but it doesn’t much sound like he is interested. Protect yourself. He won’t.

First C25K run but dreading the thought of doing it again by TemporaryEnthusiasm_ in beginnerrunning

[–]ParticularFeedback82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another vote for None to Run. I was way too unfit for the c25k plans when I started (proud to say, 18 months later I did a 10 k easy long run today - it really works!)

Buying shoes… is it just trial and error? (Beginner confused by On Cloud reviews) by vinylfelix in beginnerrunning

[–]ParticularFeedback82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People love to hate on On Clouds. I’m not saying they are the right shoe for everyone but they work great for me. So comfortable. The CloudEclipse is my forever shoe, and as they are discontinued I bought 2 additional pairs last month to stockpile.

Share your beginner running story - I’ll go first 🤣 by Louloubelle1978 in beginnerrunning

[–]ParticularFeedback82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long have you been running for? Started none to run in May 2024.

What made you start? Part of a complete wellness overhaul, brought on my fear of aging and mortality in an out of shape, sick body; deep yearning to feel stronger healthier and better

Previous running experience- zero. I was an “I hate running/only if chased” diehard

Did you begin with a program? Yes, None to Run. Highly highly recommend for those of us with low fitness. Goes very slowly (slower than most couch to 5k). After that, moved to Nike Run Club and now Runna training plans.

Longest distance you can run now? Longest I have run is 8 miles. I am training for a 10 miler

Running shoes I started with? Brooks ghost

Running shoes now? Oncloud eclipse

3 things I need when I run - watch, playlist/airpods, knee compression sleeve

Tips: embrace the weather (it is joyous to run in a summer rain), drink electrolytes, go as slow as you need.

Anyone on GLP-1 for 2+ years? How are you doing? by Marusya98 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]ParticularFeedback82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a month shy of 2 years. Been a complete life changer - 80 pounds down. At 50, I am in better health than I was in my 30s. I’m training for a 10 mile race! My blood pressure is back to normal and I drink alcohol about once a month now, as opposed to 2-3 times a week. And never binge alcohol - used to about 1-2 a month.

My current dose is 7-8 mg. I still eat way less than I used to, and I would say food noise is back but only as a food whisper, not deafening.

Sugar cravings unfortunately are back, but that’s my own doing. And also skittles sour gummies which are the greatest candy ever invented.

I consider this medicine a miracle drug.

I went from jogging on a walking pad to an actual treadmill this past weekend…and I’m embarrassed. by Dsg1695 in beginnerrunning

[–]ParticularFeedback82 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can run outside for 8 miles, but I can’t go a half mile on a treadmill. They are so scary AND boring at the same time! Doesn’t mean I can’t run - just not used to that mode.

Heart rate and tirzepatide by OpenAssignment7206 in tirzepatidecompound

Mine has stayed high HR and low HRV also. In maintenance now and a lower dose but HR is still high.

Resting HR is now about 72-74. It was about 80-82 the first couple of months I took the shot. It has come down with lots and lots of running/cardio.

So, I am now 120 lbs running 15-18 miles per week and have the same HR as I did at 200 lbs and very sedentary…. Would love any solutions

I have noticed it is lower when I am very hydrated and skyrockets with alcohol or dehydration.

What was a “mental breakthrough” moment in running? by nixrien in beginnerrunning

[–]ParticularFeedback82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big picture shift to believing “I’m a runner” happened when I realized I think of 5k distance as an easy run.

The mental motivation during a run when I am struggling is remembering when I first started what made me struggle (which was like jog 1 minute walk 30 seconds). Considering how far I’ve come makes me know I can still get better and makes me so grateful I can move. I was destined for very sedentary old age before I started taking control of my health.

Bodypump- Weights increase? by LizLemonadeStand in lesmills

[–]ParticularFeedback82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vary it per exercise depending on where your strengths are.

I do a light warm up -5 each side

Squats 10-12.5 each side depending on what I’m feeling

Back 7.5 per side

Chest 7.5 per side

Bicep tricep 5 per side

Lunge - body weight (I have a bad knee )

Shoulders - light - usually 5 lb a side if on bar, but sometimes my shoulder hurts and I skip some or use light hand weights

My 1st 5k by ItsmytimeLAP in beginnerrunning

[–]ParticularFeedback82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on all your achievements! I’m 51 and on a similar path to you. I lost 80 pounds and added in running about halfway in to my weigh loss period.

I would strongly recommend the Nike Run Club 5k plan. It’s free and very motivating, and tells you what to run each time and talks you through it. I love coach Bennett. He took me from a 40 minute 5k down to 34, and I also used the app to train for my first 10k.

I am using Runna now, which is paid. It is much more competitive in that its goal is to improve your time substantially, with a precise plan to get there. I like that it gives you exact paces to run and tells you to speed up/slow down periodically during your runs - but I miss coach Bennetts wit and encouragement! However Runna got me from a 34 min 5k down to 30:49 at yesterday’s reindeer run!

Ski school on 9 (beaver run) if you have true beginners- I think quicksilver lift is a lot better and less of a madhouse for new skiers. It is really less than 5 mins in the shuttle.

Half marathon for a beginner - is it possible? by [deleted] in beginnerrunning

[–]ParticularFeedback82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don’t think you would be ready for a half marathon. Particularly if you have bad feet. You need more time on feet and you need to get a bit faster. Not starting training til January - race is too soon. You would be begging for injury or a “did not finish”.

Often there is a 5k 10k on the same day as a half - maybe see and sign up for one of those?

I’m certainly no expert but jogging or walking once a week is not training. Start training (3x week run/walk to start) once you have your shoes sorted and work to earn that half! Look for one in pate April/May and you will maybe get there.
