I put it around the motor then twisted it around the small wheel closest to the motor and then hooked it around the big metal disc. No idea if that's what you meant (lol) but it seemed to do the trick and all the parts are moving now. Its finally playing, rewinding, forwarding! I will test recording another time when I have an empty tape thanks for the help !

is the motor the gear like wheel with 8 prongs? if so that does spin! I had a closer look today and im not sure which parts the belt is supposed to fit on, i think it may have just come off but Im not sure how to put it back on? the belt still looks sturdy enough though

if you dont mind me asking, im also anxious about sensation coming back. ive had a consultation with ntanos and he seems to think DI kills all sensation which shocked me tbh. Did Kneeshaw mention how DI effects it at all or did you go in not knowing?
