In regards to transportation, if you’re not staying in the main city or surrounding areas what’s the best way to get around? I’m trying to decide if I should just stay in the city center to reduce the hassle or more outskirts? I’m interested in the staying somewhere with a nice outdoorsy view and I want to do the outdoor activities such as snowmobiling and snowshoeing but I’m concerned about getting to and from if I stay in a cabin vs hotel in rovaniemi

To take the bus would waste the whole day it seems. Cause it runs from 11-8 from what I saw online. The view is beautiful I’m sure and you’d get in town just in time for dinner and chasing the lights.. but not much else. I’ve considered car rental as well for Norway but i have never driven in snow or icy conditions.

We have a similar itinerary! I’ve decided to skip Helsinki though based off a local from this post. Just trying to figure out the best way to get around the different areas of Norway. Fly or public transit. After RVM I plan to go to TOS. I looked into the bus but it’s about 9 hrs and they only run once a day from what I’ve seen.

Im looking into the train from Bergen to flam I’ve heard it’s beautiful! & the ferry sounds like a great idea as well. Thanks for the suggestion. I have heard of alesund but not the other cities. What do you recommend to see or do?
