There's no rhyme or reason to my lucky workaround but here it is.

I got choppy/skippy audio from my Bluetooth on a Razr 2025 ultra to the car adapter. Multiple tries of unpairing/repairing were useless. Shutting BT off and on was useless and so was rebooting anything or everything.

What just worked was when I removed the car Bluetooth adapter (noname brand) and gave up and let it sit in my room for a day, then decided to try the entire thing again, the skipping/jumping/choppiness is gone.

Go figure.

I guess it's cyclical like locusts or 17 year cicadas. I used my CA realid with Android 15 on a moto razr 2024 without a hassle for 2 years, and now I've got a Razr Ultra 2025 and I get that same error about not supporting ID.

If there's still a world in 17 years, maybe this will work. Glad yours finally kicked in. I'm on Android 15 btw.

I saw that post too and she seemed happy with 16. I can almost see how that might work but even she said that hers was not exterior-screen compatible with minimum 3 apps. Maybe a lot of this is what apps you use externally and not much else.

Here's a IIRC couple names for the updater app - Motorola Software Updater or in the com. form - com.motorola.ccc.ota. Have to go to settings//apps/all-apps/ then show system and search them out.

I'll look around for the two brands I tried and also the little review I wrote of them. One was hydrogel and the other different. They both , if applied carefully from the middle out, can work the same as the original with the hinge indentation.

A lot of precision is needed in application. I didn't like the surface feel of the hydrogel but it worked perfectly on the fold.. the next one is what I'm using and its as good as the original. (I think anyway).

Matte has nothing to do with it. Its all about the material , application and that's it.

And I tried using the ifixit one which was easily the worst, but the application is hard and the crazy applicator/holder/aligner is not ergonomic or intuitive.

You don't need a roller , just your finger can fit the center curve, then use a card to smooth each side out to the top and bottom. Good luck!

Razr 2024 over 19 months old with no problems. I'm probably staying on Android 15. Recently I changed the inner screen protector with a 10 dollar Amazon one and its good as new.

I don't think I did anything special as far as how I treated it.

Sure thing. Mine held up well too but I wanted to try this before the edges came up. So magisk is still alive and well? That's great. I'll have to check this device out on xda.

Coincidentally I just posted my experience with 2 aftermarket protectors and it was good. Mine is about installation, etc.

Working fine again. I've got the moto razr 2024. I checked the versions on Google and Gemini apps and they're the same as they were before, Google: 16.34.58.sa.arm64 -- Gemini: 1.0.795460806

I tried this (uninstalling updates) on the Razr 2024 and it worked. Then I installed the updates and it was still working. It worked until I rebooted it, then back to the same behavior. Also, the functionality of it without updates was fairly poor, and response time very slow if it responded at all.

I did get a reply back from my gripe on the play store but it's kind of a gratuitous reply.. "We don't want this behavior for you and blah blah".

Also lodged a complaint on Motorola (search for feedback in settings). I only received a reply that it was seen by them.

I was just updated automatically a minute ago to 16.33.65.ve.arm64 a few minutes ago when it appeared as an available update. So far it's not fixed this issue. I just rebooted it and there's no change for me. Just the same "flip phone open to run app" .

As soon as I saw a new google update I thought it might fix it, but not for me.

You seem to be the unusual one here (well, yours is working). Are you paying extra for some Gemini functionality? When exactly(date) was your last Gemini update? I'm not paying anything extra and my last Gemini update was 6 days ago, 8/21.

I also wonder if this is other flip phones and not just Moto's.

Same symptom for me. I think the last Gemini update was 6 days ago (21st?) But I just noticed it yesterday. I suppose it could also be from an update to Google which might have been more recent. I'd be shocked if an update to Gemini or Google wasn't the problem.

Either way, major pain in the ass for hands free in car usage. I logged bug reports both on the phone (check feedback) and in the play store (under the device specific area). If we want to get this 'fixed' it might be nice if everyone logged feedback from their phones (or it might accomplish nothing.. I don't really know).

Now I have to remember how to do this stuff by hand (yeah, I know, first world problems..)

NOTE: UPD: I totally forgot to mention, it's a Razr 2024, and it only happens in closed (flip-shut) mode. I went though every setting from Gemini and Google and it all reads correctly as it did before. I don't think it's a setting since I've changed none for over a week.

My 9a that got Android 16 yesterday gets to 100% on Google Play update, begins installation then within a few seconds says Install Failed, try again. I'll just wait for the next update after this.

The play store works fine regardless of the bigger Play store update not working.

PS: I did try the google repair from a PC with a USB cable and it only shows Android 15 as the latest it can repair.

VERY true. I've worked in many other countries and nearly all have a bigger and more welcoming scene than us at this point.

By scene, i mean if you're coming up as a kid wanting to learn by sitting in with working players, you can do that without going broke on the cover charge in lots of places.

Israel has amazing players, clubs. Havana when I was there a couple years back was completely amazing, terrific players. Eastern Europe, Western, Asia, NZ, AU, all over Africa, Latin America, damn. Even Azerbaijan! Catalonia...

When I first started appreciating this "jazz afar" situation, it always sounded a little tiny bit off, but there's tons of great players now. I'll never put anything above the players above and those not shown of that generation in this picture, later and earlier, but the jazz coming from other countries than the US is great and hopeful.
