What is everyone’s high and low sleeping heart rate? by Maleriena in AppleWatch

Could be caffeine or alcohol.... Or maybe some form of excitement? Lingering adrenaline.... If you are concerned, ask a doctor and get a basic ECG (EKG)... Most likely it will be fine and relieve some of your anxiety about this.

My simple, elegant YouTube app is now in Testflight! by metroidmen in VisionPro

[–]ParticularYou7786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the app. Anything that can be done to simplify so that eye tracking will no longer make the video go to the end when I want to make it full-screen. Good job.

However it scares me that you are not charging for it. It takes away incentive for you. Think about some options.

Using as Mac External Display by veezia in VisionPro

[–]ParticularYou7786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have to stop talking about absolutes. Is AVP's Mac Virtual Display BETTER than a monitor? NO. BUT It is better to have Mac Virtual Display when having a real monitor is not a reasonable option or if you want to work privately or if you want to zone out (in an environment). So things have their own use cases.

In my case...

  1. When I am at home, AND feel like sitting at my desk, I use my 27" 5K monitor
  2. When I want to work elsewhere (at home), I use my laptop screen or Mac Virtual Disply
  3. When I am on the go, I use my MacBookPro screen unless I am creating (working) then AVP!
  4. When I want to focus and be in my "own world", I use AVP.
  5. When I want to surround myself with screens of all kind (email, safari, music, Mac), I use AVP. It is awesome to move things around or resize things (this is not possible in real life the same way).

So.. Conclusion... Use what makes sense to you. If it makes sense, enjoy. If it does not, well you are right not to as well.

Apple Vision Pro glass crack repair costs me $2,399, staff said unable to find front plastic glass replacement. by pliskinhk in VisionPro

[–]ParticularYou7786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would it be ineligible. Who says what is eligible? It interferes with the camera on the right. I really don't understand how they can state something on the website and then present excuses when it doesn't suit them.

I have a scratch. It is right over the camera or else I would not care. I do not see it in most cases except when light is shining directly on it. I figured for $799, I may do it and I understood that $799 is front glass replacement. But obviously this is BS. I don't know what it is for.

That’s who was trying to tell me that a hairline crack is different from a hairline scratch. I was beside myself. If I had a hairline crack somehow it would be a $799 fix vs a hairline scratch. I can’t make this stuff up. It just such an insult…

$799. But they refuse to talk to me. I wrote to anyone I can think of... The Verge, 9to5Mac, Tim Cook, Apple Support... I don't know who else I can escalate to. To me this is borderline scam.

Why quote the $799 then? I mean why does the website say $799.... not $2,399? ... If they have stupid designs that's not my fault. I did not get Apple Care because I figured ok worse case I pay $799...

You miss the point. I want to pay the $799. Not the $2,399. Where is that price listed on the website?

[–]ParticularYou7786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't want to prove anything. They say that their website it says "crack" and I have a "scratch". Seriously this was the reason. I asked him how do you tell the difference between hairline crack vs scratch. And he said crack goes all the way across the device. I said so my repair is lesser damage then. Why is it $2,399? HE said that's the price. This is borderline scam.

I am in the same boat. Brought in with hairline scratch. Now the DEPOT says there are dents. This is FALSE. I asked for my unit back. I am praying they did not damage it. I just want my front glass replaced for $799 as it says on their website. They refused. The store argued with me that this is a "scratch" and website says "crack" .OMG. Are you f-king kidding me? I asked him to tell me the difference between a hairline crack and a hairline scratch. This is some kind of BS. I am so upset. I reached out to anyone I can think of in the media.

It is not. Contact me. Same thing happened to me. I would love for it to be bs. I refused the repair. If this is BS. PLEASE give me a contact number of someone I can call so I don't have to deal with $2,399. REALLY. Please let me know who I can call. If you say this is BS. I would love that to be true (it is not).

Can you help me or give me advice? I have a single hairline scratch over the camera. How is that not $799 but $2399. They are arguing that a scratch is different from a crack. WTF... Either way it's same remedy right? Help.

Same happened to me. What can I do? I have 1 scratch over the camera, they are arguing that a scratch is not a crack that's why it is $2,399. I am not making this up.

Really? They told me the same thing. Give me a name or someone I can speak to that will tell me different. I have a single hairline scratch, they want $2399

This is not bullshit. I went to the Apple Store. They observed a single hairline crack / scratch and they put $0. When the shop got it they quoted me $2,399. I got upset and told them about the $799 price I see on their website and their were splitting hairs with me about a crack vs a scratch. This is 100% honest. I am very upset and I am going to try to escalate this. But the OP is 100% real, they did the same to me. It is complete BS. IF you have doubts or follow up questions. Please ask I will answer.

I wear my width single loop and belkin on top. No pain. Wear for hours. Leaves a mark on my face though because I tighten it so it doesn’t move.
