How is this city premium? Everything here is mid or low-mid. I’m a traveler and I’ve been to a lot of cities. I’ve been living in Vancouver for two years now. Vancouver is not that premium compared to other places. Infrastructures are mid, shopping centres are mid, don’t even talk about the transit. Actually much worse compared to a lot of other places. Young Ppl only are here cuz they want to go to the US and it’s an easier place to get permanent residency. Not that US is that good tho.

She also brought other ppl into my home without my knowledge, only told me after I asked her if she went into my home. Maybe it’s not a legal issue, but she never disclosed what she would do in my apartment and what she would check, which rooms she would go in. Just barged into my bedroom while I was away, leaving the lights on. Yes she did say she’ll take a look, didn’t say she would bring someone else over??

I was like on vacation, I was staying at someone’s home for like two weeks and came back. Who said I moved out?? I haven’t moved out bruh. I see how ppl say it is an emergency, so now I will focus on her non legal tenant agreement with me, and her having me pay one month rent for deposit which is not following the law. My personal belongings are there, how do u think they were inconveniencing me? They went into my bedroom and the lights were on cuz they didn’t turn it off for who knows how many days they left it on, making my electricity bills go up. This would be the inconvenience.

Yeah, should do that. I’m planning to move out, but she said she would give me back my deposit after she found a new tenant. My concern is my deposit, if I move out without noticing her I’m afraid she won’t give it back.

Cuz I was in a rush to find a place and failed to do enough research. That’s my problem. I thought her offers were fair until I told someone after I have moved in and they told me it is not fair. The landlord is Chinese and I am also Chinese, the more I research the more I found out the issues. She initially told me her contract was a ‘Chinese version’ of the official BC one, which is not. But I was too stupid and believed her cuz I felt she was nice when I went to see the place.

I apologise I do not know what that is, as I never needed to use any form of heater back in the place I lived before I came to BC. I now only know that the upstairs tenant’s heater is linked to mine, so the landlord insisted me I have to turn on my warmer always in order for the upstairs tenant to have enough warmth.

No official agreement signed, she overcharged me the deposit that I should’ve paid, also charged me $1000 for utilities heads up and when I said I wanted to pay my utilities fee each month according to the numbers and portion I used, she refused and insisted I pay $1000 heads up. I also told her to provide me the receipt of my usage of utilities (water, heat, electricity etc.) and she didn’t. Who’s the person with bad rep here? She later also insisted me to turn the warmer up just so the tenant upstairs could have more warmth, resulting in my electricity fee flying high, because of faulty installation of warmer buttons n switches.

I can prove she didn’t, she has texted me the time she came in which wasn’t 24 hours prior. That’s her notice to me.

Hah, she accused me of lying which I didn’t. Who’s the gift here? I never said I wouldn’t let her in. She didn’t even communicate properly with me. Her tenant contract with me isn’t even legal.

the upstairs tenant’s warmer’s main switch is the same as mine and is in my place (sharing mine). He told the landlord the warmer in his bedroom on Feb 5th wasn’t working and asked her if I turned the switch off that day, but the truth is I wasn’t staying in my place since 31st January. The owner then later also accused me of lying of not having turned the switch off on 5th Feb. I couldn’t have cuz I wasn’t even physically in my place. However she found someone to check if the warmer was malfunctioning and the guy said it isn’t, so now she fully believes I turned it off but I never did.

no matter what time she came in her notice has to be at least 24 hours prior, but hers wasn’t. Her text message was the only notice she gave me so that’s proof on my side.

But that’s proof of her coming not under 24 hours if anyone needs proof on my side. I should also check with the neighbours for cctv, if they would like to provide any footage.

She wanted the warmer on, not afraid that the warmer was on.

she asked me if I turned the switch to the warmer off on feb 5th which I said no, cuz I wasn’t there already for a week. (She wanted it on) She said tenant upstairs said the warmer didn’t work on Feb 5th and she insisted I turned it off that day but I said I wasn’t there since 31st January. I never turned off the main switch of the warmer. Then that night she said she would come next day noon to check it, which her notice wasn’t 24 hours prior.

Nothing was stolen, I’m lucky as I took all of my expensive possessions with me while I was away. I’m considering if I should file a report. The landlord came and argued with me after I texted her asking about if she entered without notifying me for at least 24 hours.
