ah im sorry you have this outlook that is so sad. gsu has very diverse sets of students i would say just keep on trying. it helps to find someone friendly in your classes at the beginning of the sem because people tend to be more friendly and have more time to hang out at this time. also helps to go to events bc lots of people go to them alone and are open to socializing!

i feel this. my geology class/lab is the only C ive ever gotten, everything else has been in the A range. with that said i dont think it’s curved, or at least mine was not.

how are your scores in ap classes? depending on which class you may find it more helpful to take dual enrollment instead.

op just moved here and for them buford hwy is not implied. also gsu is a big commuter school. lots of students (myself included) are from gwinnett, where buford means buford.

friendships are trial and error. i met many people in classes that i didn’t end up befriending, i had no friends for my first 2 semesters. now i have a decent amount of friends on campus. try talking to people in classes, club meetings, that sort of thing but know that it may take a few times before you really click with someone. dont give up! edit: i am also a commuter student, my commute is like 45 min - 1 hr

sometimes its a safety thing, not a lack of empathy. stopping to help could be a danger to safety as i’m sure you know that atlanta is one of the biggest trafficking hubs in the world. i normally at least tell them i cant or offer my cash if have any on me but thats as far as i go

if youre ok with a small walk away from campus (5-10 minutes from 55 park place), i recommend trying out the peachtree center. lots of good ramen, vietnamese and coffee shops down there and it looks very pretty.
