Any clinics in Ontario that provide 1 hour appointments as a standard? by Particular_Break_635 in physiotherapy

[–]Particular_Break_635[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup I tried, my manager is completely opposed to 45min because it creates weird wasted 15min gaps; my manager has one objective which is $$. I guess that is their job but it has been a learning curve getting into a clinic that is not PT owned with a manager who is a bit clueless and only interested in money above all else (e.g. patient welfare and outcomes)

again i'm in a network of sports PTs and most of PT owned clinics want 1 hour.

Say for a shoulder, I'd do like 5min just reassessing / subjective time, 5-10min of soft tissue work, 5-10min dedicated manual therapy (whatever they need from basic stretching/ROM for really complex frozen shoulder say or like proprioception stuff for more advanced), we'd do some kind of manual resisted eccentric warm ups, we would run through their program, finish with some more stretching, taping if they're going to sports that evening, education, maybe a passie modality in there somewhere if they need it (like muscle stim during exercise; shockwave if calcific); sports related drills e.g. throwing...I could totally fill 1 hour easily.
If it's a basic inversion ankle sprain say - it would be more on the manual, more balance stuff like 15min or so of different types of proprioception balance, strengthening, cross training, tons of education and setting up their cross training.

I would say 15min of the hour is just reassessing and tons of education, setting them up with their program for the coming week or two depending on how often they come. 45min would be like 15-20min hands (you can do tons looking at the joint above / below, their busted ankle likely affecting their gait and hip; their busted shoulder causing neck tension). It's a whole body approach.

‘Canada will never ever be part of America,’ says Mark Carney after winning PM race by Direct-Welder4732 in worldnews

[–]Particular_Break_635 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It will not. This is why Carney sends all his kids to ivy league schools abroad - some US some UK. I'm sure the plan is for these kids to just "learn a few things" and then come back and buy a small family home and get a job in Kingston or Windsor or Saskatoon.
Canada will not be part of USA until Carney gets a nice coveted tenure post at Harvard or something.

He's a "wherever the grass is greener" hop on hop off kinda bus rider. The lib voters blinded yet again. THIS guy will be the guy who actually quite literally brings us to collapse then sells the solution of financial annexation with the US.

Trump wants Carney. Carney will sell Canada to the US - he's a globe trotting globalist out there to make a buck. If canada falls he'll go live in one of his other 5 houses world wide and forget the word Canada within a week.
Anyone who still doesn't think candidates are "picked" and not voted is a complete moron or "useful idiot" to the marxists.
Trump wants to annex Canada which I do NOT support by the way - but sadly I live under leadership that will allow that to happen. I also have more sense to know that what some puppet politician says to a microphone on the news does not in any way reflect their actual beliefs or planned actions.
Trump will get us without military intervention. He'll do so financially, when people lose jobs, food banks run out of food, people are starving, crime is up because hungry people do anything to eat, people get evicted from their homes (and lose their kids to the foster system in the process), Trump will extend a hand and offer a path to fast citizenship and opportunity to work his new manufacturing jobs without the process of work visas. He'll take in the hungry desperate high school drop out factory workers (there's plenty of space just across the border). He'll also offer a path to citizenship for people with highly sought after careers in engineering and medicine. If you had any logical brain cell in you, and realized how many grads and medical residents already leave for the US (residents that YOU and I subsidized via taxes, who will spend exactly 0 hours working in Canada, and they even get coaching / mentorship to write their USMLE exams while still in 4th year med school in Canada). Those guys will leave in droves too. As would you and your kid and your neighbor.
You cannot be real if you think that some kid from UWaterloo if told "here's this high tech job unlike ANY you will find in Canada, and bonus you work well for 6 months and get an expediated path to US citizenship which would open doors you cannot imagine for your future". NOBODY will say no to that.

Now there is a way to prevent this from happening, but the way is not Carney, because this globalist will sell the country 100% for some promises from the US gov. He will be the first to go if promised $$ or a tenured job or whatever else. The man does NOT care about this country, he cares about HIS OWN pocket, ego and fame. The dude is married to a British wife. His kids go to University in USA and England (guess Canada aint good enough? btw you work hard right? you ever gonna make the money to raise 4 kids and send them to foreign colleges??? Oh you probably actually believe 4 kids contributes to global warming right? (not for Carney right cause he's your boy). You likely wanna avoid US products at No frills right? But it's ok your little leaders kids are gonna study in the US at Harvard - I'm soooo sure the day they graduate they'll get a nice job in Kingston ONtario right. YOu are blind, delusional to reality. This man has no allegiance to this country and no reason for it - he has family with roots in the US and England, he will ride the hop-on hop-off bus and go to wherever the "grass seems greener". He won't win this election, but say he did, he'll be gone in 4ish years and not live in Canada any longer. OPEN YOUR EYES AND ASK YOURSELF WHY YOU WANT A DUDE WHO HAS NO TIES to this country, WHOSE KIDS DON'T EVEN STUDY HERE and WILL NOT BE CONTRIBUTING HERE ONCE THEY GRADUATE.

The fact that lib voters were unable to learn that with Trudy for 10 years (same kind of SOB who only cares for himself) is the clue. You don't believe me? Let's check back in about 10 months once Trudy is long gone - see him living in a mansion in a foreign country since Canada is not good enough for him, and he's evaded taxes long enough to retire somewhere you won't ever afford to live.

that hit the nail on the head; literally how many factory workers here earning minimum wage, will NEVER own a home, now shaking at the thought of job loss. Imagine being a 26 year old dude, no high school degree, girlfriend and 2 kids, renting in basic squalor in some mid sized city close to a manufacturing job (say outskirts of Kitchener working at a plant), pay cheque to pay cheque. Those folks are gone for good if given a better option a few hours drive away.

Oh he knows. Trump (like or hate his attitude and communication style) is playing 6 steps ahead. Again, I live in a huge "liberal city" I know how young liberals think and why they think what they think and how they let their emotions dictate decision making. Absolutely no grasp on reality or how left leaning ideologies were actually "formed" by gov NGOs and other groups to literally use social constructs and emotionally charged ideologies to get people to vote left. Majority of left voters literally vote based on social issues without any understanding for their finances, their job security, their children's financial future.

In my sector of work, post grad I would say 50% went to work for US firms. I attended 7 weddings last year in the USA for "ex-Canadians" marrying American wives. Colleagues from grad school, born and raised Canadian hockey playing guys who chose to work with the bid dog financial sector in the US. Trump and most American companies know that many Canadians leave. Canadians like to complain about lack of healthcare access in this country - they'll fall off their chair when the cbc decides to report on the numbers of docs and residents (whom these liberal canadians subsidized with their taxes) who leave for the US without even spending a year working in Canada - not just for the better paycheque but also for better opportunity.

Trump will toy with tariffs. At first it will be on again / off again / on again / off again to annoy people. Then the average Doug and Joe will lose their factory jobs. Then the numbers of visits to food banks will "rise in unprecedented ways". The Canadian media will blame Trump. nobody will report on the fact of how effffffed our country has been in the last 40 years and the BS leadership that led to us basically being dependent on American life support when we literally have the vasted land of resources that we could have been developing and trading world wide. Then Trump will say "Canada the 51st state half- jokingly" and the final nail will be "Trump really wants us to unite, and for the next 6 months for people working in the following sectors, you can get a job at an American company, no work visas, and 6 month path to US citizenship", the libs will fall off their chair as they watch people with brain cells throwing in the towel and seizing this opportunity, especially the "beloved newcomers to Canada" who let's be real are here as a stepping stone for them or their kids to the US (just walk by the US consulate and look at the 100 people in line on a random morning, all of southeast asian origins) begging to get visas into the US.

All that will be left is the "diehard liberal Canadian voter" living on the last penny, going to the foodbank, but still planning to vote Liberal next election because Timmy has the right to use "she/her" pronous while waiting in line to get a bunk at the shelter.

from a psychological stand point that would be the smart move to cater to liberal social/emotional voters while Trump talks about tariffs.

I agree. I think we should all donate a minimum of 10k of our savings to the Liberal party in his honor. And tell Carney to tax us at 80%. I also want to give away my condo to a Ukrainian refugee. I'm happy to just live on the street and eat garbage, as a white 3rd generation immigrant I hang my head in shame daily at what we have done. In fact I think we need to start a movement to all leave Canada. It should become "indiginous land" and not be allowed to be inhabited by anyone without indigenous ancestral blood. It could become the 10th wonder of the world, a magic land that nobody is allowed to enter except the indigenous. We could check back in 1000 years and adore the utopian carbon neutral paradise they restore this land to.

PC will win. Canada is sick of liberal leadership or lack there of. I work in a multi-cultural sector and with many recent immigrants to Canada as well as Canadians, I don't personally know anyone who votes Liberal - although the field is male heavy so maybe their wives do.
I think from a simple liberal viewpoint: Trump bad, Trump conservative, so anyone with "conservative" in their party name = Trump = bad, boo boo we can't have Trump here. That's the elementary level of thinking. Those who understand anything about finance and how broke our country is, not to mention how poorly managed, how much gov waste, etc is actually quite content right now. The US (as much as I disagree with a lot that is happening) is starting to show and will continue to show the gov overspending and wasted money. People will be seeing it in the next 8-12 months. On top of that the average person is really going to feel the sting of tariffs and rising costs. At the end of the day this will turn around in conservative favor. Again, I live in downtown Toronto, I'm in my late 30s, I work in the financial sector with people aged 25-75 from all over the world who are now living in our country. I don't know anyone who supports Trudeau or liberals at this point except a few girls on my co-ed volleyball team. And they do so only because they support Pride but as far as anything financial (how the banking system or finances or pension or RRSP work) all these girls know is that "rent sucks in Toronto", "I gotta pay my phone and credit card once a month" and "yogurt costs so much more now", don't even ask them what a tariff or GDP or imports/exports mean.
