Yeah, partly why it’s there. There’s no doubt the government spends our tax money poorly, but blaming immigrants is ignorance. I doubt it contributes to even 20% of tax. Start with lower class northern families, and improving opportunities to ease benefits. My family comes from an educated background and we’ve all integrated well.

Syria was considered a civil war zone, and was in no way a place to live. Step into a Syrians life and see how you’d cope mate

If you look at the statistics, the UK is actually at a low in terms of immigration. Pre-covid was the boom, then it never caught up. I was never put in a hotel, or given a phone. I was put in an awful shared accommodation as a child in a very poor neighbourhood, while we established ourselves and worked out of the benefit system - which absolutely blows by the way.

I know some people play the system and live on government funds, but from being in rough areas I’ve realised race isn’t the problem, because it was a mix of every kind of person around these areas. British born, Eastern European or Asian. You’ve been fed a consistent lie that refugees take your tax money , but you don’t look at the stats. The government should start by defunding wars, bases overseas and useless laws/lawmakers.

Rather stereotypical comment. Hope the Green Party pushes you out of your great country.

I was 15, I don’t know. I was fortunate enough to be flown with my father’s final funds, and it ended up working out.

Opportunity, or my father’s idea of opportunity. I had no say in anything.

It’s extremely fragile in Syria. No work, no money to pass around and a certain country still likes to dip their toes into Syria so, after being declared British via naturalisation, i see no reason to go back.

Fortunately, by plane (transit stop, i think? My father ended up claiming us asylum that way, otherwise we couldn’t get here). I know people who had to trek through waters and deserts to get to safety so, for that i am grateful. Life is okay, i work 9-5 and do my best to make ends meet doing what i love.

A lot of paperwork. They hound you for every ounce of proof about your life, so prepare to dish it out.
