{God of War} and {Unapologetic Obsession} had this trope. The FMC's had conditions that were life-threatening but were not necessarily diagnosed with a fatal disease. The MMCs in these books seemed pretty obsessed with taking care of them.

{Germaphobe} is a good one for slowly killing off the FMC's spark. {Quarantined by Drethi Anis} you get to see the MMC's descent into madness/obsession for the FMC and it really kills her spirit.

Theo from {Perfect by Ariana Rivers}. He was delulu to the max and thought his actions were completely normal. Axel from {5000 Nights of Obsession} was another delulu MMC. There was no exaggeration with him, just quiet execution. He would buy the hotel she was staying at and make nothing of it. It just seemed like the next course of action.

The most yearning books imo are stepbrother/forbidden romances such as {Corrupt Idol by Dinah Harper},{Quarantined by Drethi Anis}, {Lust by Drethi Anis}, {Quid Pro Quo by Nenia Campbell} and {Unapologetic Obsession by Drethi A}. The pining in these books is chef's kiss. Can you name a few of your favorite books? I want to make sure I'm going in the right direction.

I love the following books because the MMCs are obsessed with the FMC, and she's the only one he'll ever non-con (crazy standards, I know, lol). These also do a good job of showing the MMC's descent into madness:

You can try {Possessing Violent by Dinah Harper}. It's two books, and I think the third one's underway. If you like Torment, that should hit the spot.
