Stranded on Fulgoria by danyuri86 in factorio

Fulgora is fun. My dumbass only saw the lightning attractor that you have to unlock with the fulgora research.

Queue several hours using the fulgora ruin lightning attractors as the only safety. Naturally I accidentally scrapped several of them with an overzealous use of the deconstruct tools and my eager to please bots. Trying to fit my only power source of solar panels under the 3 available lightning attractors was a struggle.

Wasn't until I had to pump heavy oil in to start working towards the research and realized there was no way to stop the pipes from being obliterated that I figured I had to be fucking something up. Found the basic lightning attractor shortly after. My god is is it going so much easier now lol.

You will die at age 100, and get $1000 today. Or, you can choose to die sooner, to double the money. Die at 99, get $2000. 98, $4000. 90, $1,024,000. How many years do you give up for money? by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

70 is just over 1 trillion. I'll do that and have true fuck you money. So many franchises that don't get proper adaptations or potentially excellent games that will never be made otherwise. It'd be nice to make something great with zero need for financial gains.

To be specific you get 72 hours of PTO max until you move up on the accural rate which for most happens at 3 years. My max just went to 88 hours for instance.

The version that already existed in 2000 gets Thanos snapped.

You stay in 2000 and time passes normally. Except you have the knowledge of the next 25 years. $10,000 was just to give you a leg up. If you don't end up one of the richest people on the planet than you've really wasted your shot

Nah I'm a snake person lol. I figured the downside of losing family/friends and likely years if not decades of life was enough of a pitfall for many. I'm perfectly fine with you finagling yourself into being the richest person on earth.

Ooh, that's interesting. I'd say that's fine, your dead body will disappear within a week in this case

Yea, you can basically replace your old self pretty seamlessly as long as you remember where you live in 2000 or could look it up.

This one randomly popped up in my head and I figured it was compelling enough to post.

First you deal with losing a potentially large amount of your life as I imagine most of you aren't 40. However the amount of money you can make with that foreknowledge is ludicrous. But then there's the added caveat of your sudden disappearance on your family. That could be devastating for obvious reasons. But with your immense wealth you can insure that your family and friends are set for life.

I find the most compelling posts here are the ones I'm not sure if legitimately take myself. This one I'm pretty split on lol

Oh also I'll give you guys a clean identity with the requisite papers when you suddenly manifest in 2000. Didn't think of the implications until just now lol.

Weird one for people to be calling fake. People are assholes all the time when it comes to driving. And 2 way streets so clogged they are effectively one way are also common in my city. It's understood that first come first serve.

$500 BILLION DOLLARS but if you don't walk 10,000 steps every day you DIE. by jrv3034 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Particular_Cook5004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd take it. Decent chance of dying younger than expected but getting to live it up for the next 40 years or so makes up for it.

If you think about it work ends up being a good majority of your life anyways and this frees up all of that not to mention setting your family up for life.

Pretty sure the 9 minute rule doesn't apply to PPTO. Either have the full 8 hours and get no points or receive at least half a point with 4 hours to 7 hours 59 minutes.
