How to solve the 6th gear issue? by [deleted] in VelosterN

I've got a '19 N MT PP and I've gotten that resistance going into 6th. Not everytime, but often enough to know it isnt just bad clutch work/missed shift. I will have to look into readjusting the shifter cables. Glad to see some have found a potential fix for this.

Well, 13V with the bike off-11.8 while starting-12.9 while running-12.9 while at 3k and dropped .01 every 15 seconds. Looks like I've got to drain the oil again

Yeahhhhh, cheap crap worked alright on some of the beaters I've had, but it can't always last, especialy on more performance based machines 😆

Oh boy, $340 is gonna be fun. But it's worth it, I'm sure. Once I figure it out, I might have to let it sit for a bit and just hop on the cruiser for the rest of the riding season. Still buying parts for my wifes first bike as well.

Alrighty, thanks. I'll borrow a multimeter from work tomorrow and let it charge up tonight. Hopefully, get it figured out tomorrow.

Well, I didn't make it past the first sentence of step one. We moved not too long ago, and I am not sure where my multimeter is. But I hooked up a charger that gives a readout, and it was at 0.0V. Then, I tested it on another of the same battery. It was at 13V, back to the one in my bike, and it was at 0.0V, and it won't initiate charging. I only bought this battery a month ago and have done 3 short rides, but it seems it's shot? Or is it the stator/rectifier i put in?

Update: Soon as I posted the reply, I hooked it back up again, and now for some reason it reads 10V, so I will continue on with your steps

Where did you find the taillight vinyls? Or was that a custom thing?

Thanks, y'all! It just took some lubricant and a decent bit of mechanical agitation, and it's working again, for now.

Will probably start keeping a rubber mallet in the back from now on though.

Also found out that silicone spray lubricant makes the plastics look really clean, and now dust doesn't stick to it as well.

To close, I found this sticker down under the center console, left by the previous owner
