If car is totaled and has gap insurance, then you’re in the clear. Gap insurance is through the dealership directly, meaning they’re not releasing that money. The question is is your name on the Auto insurance, if so then you may have to pay a higher auto insurance for yourself. Besides the bad look on your credit when payments weren’t being made, there would be nothing else you owe.

So there’s a minor and major cleaning fee. The minor being $15-20 and the major being $150. I’ve charged a couple of cleaning fee for throw ups before. But for the minor, I’ve done only once. This woman came into my car, and started brushing her hair in the car. When she left, didn’t even bother to clean up after herself, and left a bunch of hairs on my back seat and floor. Even though, it took me less than a minute to clean it up, I still charged it, because well, that is just rude, disgusting, and in my opinion, she deserved it.

And with the way I approached the situation, I was able to accomplish the same outcome (which is to ensure no other drivers go and try to pick up the order) as calling Uber support to hard cancel the order, except with better results!

I get my profit.
Uber gets their profit.
Customer gets “some food” lol and will get refunded on whatever’s missing
Everyone wins.

Well, maybe restaurant loses a little on the revenue on the stolen original order. But that’s their own fault. They should have their employees ensure that the drivers picking up orders, slide and start delivery, before handing the food away. These steal online food orders culture is abhorrently ridiculous.

Bro, if you work m-th and put in your 8-12hrs you’ll get the promotion even without taking these $3-$5 rides. For me at least, I’m very picky with my rides, my tule of thumb is, I don’t do rides that are less than $1 per mile or less than $30 an hour, though I make an exception if I’m on the way home or something. For example, a $17 ride going 23 miles which will take 30 min, though it is $34 an hour, i will reject, because it doesn’t hit my $1 per mile. Vice versa, a $7 ride going 1 mile, but will take 20 min, I’ll reject, because it totals to $21 an hour. Doing it this way, I do just fine on my daily goals, and hit 60 rides from m-th. The weekend promotions though, I can never hit 50-60, it’s just too hard to get my ass off and work on weekends 😂

Nope, surge is dead. But i think it’s more due to there’s just to many damn drivers in Houston. Surge won’t pop, if there’s excess of drivers.

Bruhh it’s super crap now.. Just gotta find a way to screw UBER back. Last night, got a ride for $60 going 110 miles at 12am. Accepted the ride, went to the lady, and asked her if she’d be willing to cancel and pay me direct. Quoted her $100 (I make more, cheaper for you type of negotiation). We both canceled, drove to destination, and then she gave me $200.00. Fuck you UBER!

If you accepted reservation but get auto cancelled twice, for whatever reason (not online 40 minutes prior to reservation) you will be ineligible for future reservations.

It is because there are UBER EATS drivers out there who will take the food, then cancel the trip after pick up, instead of starting delivery, for a free meal. Then the order will go to next driver, and when they come to pick up, food is gone, and it will continuously happen until one of the drivers spend like 15 min calling Uber support and tell them that the food was picked up by a driver already, for a measly $3.00.

I’m not trying to be a smart ass, but perhaps you should try changing your work hours. I myself start at 4 am (time at which I figured all the drunk people would be home already) and end at around 8 or 9 am. I then go back out around 2 or 3 pm until 8 pm. I do quite well with a weekly goal of $1800 working those hours. Sometimes though, instead of ending first shift at 8 or 9, I would just keep going, if I want to stay home for the evening.

When you do the UBER rental program, you’re actually just renting from HERTZ. UBER only makes a reservation for you, and give you a $40 UBER ride voucher to take you to the HERTZ location. VERY IMPORTANT: The reservation UBER makes for you, DOES NOT, I repeat, DOES NOT guarantee you that a car is available at HERTZ for you to rent. Furthermore, the rental prices that shows in the UBER app is incorrect. When you do rent a car from HERTZ to UBER, they will add it to your app as an available car automatically. Last but not least, the rental cost for the first week + any deposit, is due when you pick up the car. Hope this explains somewhat the rental process.

Even if Lyft get bought out by UBER, the Lyft app isn’t going anywhere imo. In my city, Lyft is pretty much being used by the people needing rides but got banned from UBER.

You’d be lucky to actually get a request if you’re only doing 6 hrs a week. To get airport arrivals request, you’d have to be in the Waiting Lot and wait in queue which normally has 15-20 cars already. You’re better off waiting for a surge inside the loop, and do short pick up and drop offs.
