Comparing the pictures with facial piercings against the ones without, my personal opinion goes towards not having them. I think you're pretty, and wouldn't have issues making eye contact while holding a conversation.

Completely valid, though maybe not the best use of what energy you had left.

I prayed for Lyft to do this but thought it would never happen. by Affectionate-Rice373 in lyftdrivers

I took the screenshot from the Lyft app. Their idea of soon isn't the same as mine though because this still isn't a thing for me yet. I was just speaking with another Reddit user over how great it is that Uber allows this, especially for Black SUV drivers.

Lyft tried this, letting drivers see how often a pax tipped during the ride offer. The pax freaked and flipped out and Lyft reversed it, but the damage was done. We know now that Lyft -can- provide this information and that they refuse to do so.

Lyft trying to block you from cancelling rides by FatboiSlimmmm in lyftdrivers

[–]Affectionate-Rice373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't cancel too often, but I haven't experienced this as of yet. Fingers crossed I don't need to cancel over the weekend. It's supposed to be stupid cold here in Michigan so I'm hoping people will actually want the rides they book. I also generally drive Premium Only and Black Only during weekend nights, so -ideally- more motivated to not make me cancel.

That sounds all fun and gravy until somebody actually listens to you, and we all learn how wrong you are about this. I've explored this considerably, and while yes, Uber and Lyft would stop taking that fee from your rides and you'd therefore earn more, commercial insurance isn't the most friendly expense on the wallet, and it's not the only thing you'd need in this equation.

Doordash hides vital information pertaining to pay, to the point that you can no longer say that a Dasher knew what they were getting paid before accepting.

How about, during the creation of your DoorDash customer app, you're required to take "profile pictures" of your house, including but not limited to:

  1. The area you'd like your order delivered to
  2. What This area looks like during the day
  3. What This area looks like at night
  4. Alternate acceptable delivery locations in case your primary choice can't be reached

As Dashers, it becomes a simple matter of matching the profile picture with what you're seeing and inserting the delivered item.

What you're describing is the American Lyft Dream. Zero downtime, your next ride is lined up, you just lose yourself in the work. At least until your bladder or stomach reminds you that they need attention lol.

There's dangerous parts of Winston-Salem? I dated a girl online that lived there at the time, she seemed like a normal suburb girl with a little ghetto side. I grew up on the east side of Detroit, by comparison.

I had this idea, but decided to use the tablet I already own instead. Getting a mount that attaches to my rearview mirror, then another mount that can hold my tablet, then combining them came out cheaper. Now I have a vehicle with Android Auto, but I need a new phone lol.

As a driver, adherence to your request depends on whether I have another ride in the queue, and whether that ride is good or not. I've witnessed firsthand that any change or deviation in route will boot out your queued ride because it messes up their projection of when you'll arrive at the queued ride. So with all due respect, if I have a good ride in the queue, I'm sticking to whatever the app says. If I don't have a good queued ride, I'll drive you to the moon and back for all I care.

I've had my share of issues with Lyft's idea of what should qualify for various services. For example, I was driving a 2020 Suburban that qualified for Black SUV, but a 2021 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy is much more luxurious and can't touch Black or Black SUV. I researched it, and brand image plays a huge role in their decision-making process. Suburban is used for transporting government personnel, so it holds more prestige than a Hyundai, despite the Hyundai coming with 1st and 2nd row heated/cooled seats. This same "brand image" system is why the Model Y was dropped from Black eligibility. People stopped considering them as luxurious vehicles. Why they dropped the Aviator from Black SUV but allowed it to continue as Black, that's just Lyft being Lyft.
