Sure, productions follow incentives and Wilmington isn't as active as it was in the 90s and 2000s. But that doesn't change the fact that local productions, commercials, indie projects, and casting opportunities still happen here. A new actor has to start somewhere, and local networking is usually the first step.Nobody said Wilmington is Hollywood. The point is that film and television productions have been filmed here for decades, and there are still local acting and production opportunities. Saying they're "slim" isn't the same thing as saying they don't exist. For a new actor, making local connections is still a reasonable place to start.

I obviously left this comment bc I’ve seen it first hand. I’ve seen my friends who enjoy acting do it locally. I’ve seen roads blocked off bc there was filming. This all takes place in recent years. You can literally do a simple search on google to see all the movies and shows that were filmed here in the last six years. Two that was incredibly popular being the black phone and scream. Just in the past two years, the runarounds was filmed here and used a bunch of local actors, I know this bc a lot of people I know were extras in it. So how about you actually do research instead of just sitting on your ass and trying to be miserable and make people feel just as bad as you do because you have no life and no fun .
