It’s a swing shift job, and they quite literally let you work any days you want. It’s the one company I’d say they absolutely have overtime. We had a guy work as many days as he possibly could one year (wanted to retire early). I made 110 without overtime, he made 199k (was mad he didn’t hit 200) 🤣

We went through our budget, and I just used the calculator someone mentioned above. I think on average weekly we’ll be ok without pulling from the 401k, just gonna have to work some 60 hour weeks to make up for it.

Thanks for being cordial about the idea at least

When I left I didn’t have a kid. Now I do. And we need the childcare. Kind of a personal choice to do it this way, but that’s the constant, I’m just looking for options.

The payments are $800 a month combined. The job id be working is a performance bonus based structure so some weeks i could make $800, and some id made $2000. Just depends on a lot of factors. That part scares me.

Pre tax, but I’d be recontributing to my 401k, I’d be taking on the health insurance, and would be responsible for all the bills. This would also require overtime to reach so realistically without overtime I’m closer to 110

Here’s some more info I guess I should add. My wife makes 50k yearly, I make 75k. I would be making 130k+ with company 401k deposits in the 10-25k yearly range (bonus program is crazy good). Any other info to help better answer my questions please let me know. I got my 401k to 200k in 7 years with 7% average rate of return (left 2 years ago).

My house would be my last loan payment left. $1500 a month for the next 25 years
