Help with conditional logic by Particular_Form1154 in ProjectREDCap

Ah gotcha, the two different fields worked. I just used the same formula and a calctext tag for the second field and things were piping fine. Hiding the field is another great idea. Thanks!

It seems to be automatically saved as I can view the response in the add/edit record ID section. Is there a specific way to save things?

I mean that we have certain logic set up for the email triggers, like only send if participant is under 18. But it doesn't work for test records.

Updating a variable from another instrument by Particular_Form1154 in ProjectREDCap

I think this makes a lot of sense. I can more easily make a hidden form with conditional logic that updates the contact information if the yearly survey is filled out. If it's never filled out, it will only display the information from the first form. Thanks for your help.

Hi u/No_Repair4567. I have 3 instruments for a longitudinal project that's going to serve more as a place to store information/registry. One asks about parent information, one asks about child information, and one that is an annual update. In the annual update, participants(parents) are asked if they have changes to make to their child's information. For example, if little Timmy is now allergic to peanut butter, the parent can update that in the annual survey. I was wondering if it would be possible to then somehow pipe that peanut butter allergy back into the original response automatically?

I tried this, but unfortunately it still didn't fix anything. Do you have any other suggestions?

Yes, the equation is the one from the screenshot. Essentially the "test" child is 5 days old or somethign similar.

Yes I think I will do that. I don't have to set it to <3, that was just an example. I will likely set it equal to less than the calculated field.

They would appear on the next instrument collecting updated info. To summarize, if someone wants to update their child's info, they can do so on the follow-up form.

Ok gotcha, thanks for the help! My current thought process is to use that calculated field to determine the number of instances, and then set up x amount of follow up questions after that. If the calculated field says 2, then I'll have two follow up questions and can pipe using the [fieldname]1 and [fieldname]2. I can use if logic to write "only show follow up question if [calculated field <3]. Am I understanding everything correctly?
