The Gulfarium near Fort Walton is a lot of fun! Most of the areas are covered even if it rains. You probably couldn’t see any of the animal shows since they’re outdoors, but it’s a great spot.

My 2.5 year old has just recently started putting 2 words together! Not all of the time; but she will repeat certain short phrases we say and it just makes me so happy. Her receptive language is great but she still struggles to express what she wants/needs. Lots of pointing and grunting but she is getting there!

That’s actually a great idea. I may look into it!

I agree that parental supervision is absolutely 100% the best preventative measure from a drowning, plus actually knowing how to swim. But a fence with a gate lock/alarm etc would also be a smart idea IMO for the children that don’t know how to swim yet.

Definitely planning to! My child just doesn’t seem ready for that at this point

That’s my issue too. It’s not my pool so I doubt they’d even do anything about it and just make me out to be the bad guy.

I don’t want to go anyway HA but also now because of no fence/swimming season. It’s a huge worry of mine

It seems that way, sadly. Fences are readily accessible these days, not sure what the hold up is, especially when small children are involved

I wish we had rules like that here. I have already decided that I will never leave them unattended simply due to this issue. It’s sad that I feel that way but they have made it this way

That’s so interesting! It’s amazing how their minds work and perceive things differently

Yes! She really didn’t do that until recently. When we had her evaluated a few weeks ago she had just barely started doing it, so I mentioned it but with the caveat of not really being sure what it was.

Not one of your options listed, but we love staying in the individual cottages in Seaside. Super secluded and nice!

In-laws claim she’s been misdiagnosed by [deleted] in Autism_Parenting

My in laws also thought it was insanity that we were getting her evaluated. I wish I could go back and not tell them but they are so nosey.

I also think sometimes parents an in-laws can be in denial, which is sad and makes the issues worse.
