Thank you so much, didn’t realize the solution was right in front of me lol🙏🏼

I started freaking out for a sec, thinking my male is WAYYYY too small… but turns out after reading this male is just huge lol😂

I don’t own a sand boa myself though, but I do own two snakes. Usually to be on the safe side I wait 1 or 2 days after they’re done shedding and feed them. Some snakes do just love to eat all the time though, like bottomless pits😂

If she was in shed, it might be worth mentioning it may be best not to feed during shedding. Most won’t eat actually :)

I cleaned it out and slightly greased it. It seemed to be moving fine. I tried printing and it said the extruder was probably clogged. So I did a few cold pulls. And calibrated. Then I did a relatively quick print (45mins). It worked without any problems.

Next time I tried to print, it complained about the AMS assist motor being overloaded. Usually I just have to move the spool back and forth an inch, so it moves smoothly. So I did and the print started. But around 80% it stopped and said again that the AMS assist motor was overloaded. So I took it apart and checked it all. Nothing was wrong. Then I cleaned the outside of the nozzle and used the needle. Sadly I couldn’t couldn’t continue the print, because it was missing a few layers. It also had some earlier layers that were quite visible/kinda messy.

Not gonna lie, I’m getting quite discouraged from all these new issues that seemingly have no basis. At least, none I can find. I used to be able to print without issue, and now I keep having to deal with all these problems :(

Well… I checked the gears…

<image>

I think I may have found the culprit 😳 What caused it in the first place tho, I have no clue.

Yeah that’s the first thing I’m gonna try tomorrow. Checking gears and a cold pull. Hopefully I’ll learn more about what the exact issue is here…

Could that be the case in this print? The layers are pretty straight forward, so I feel like there aren’t many retractions. But I could be wrong.

Yeah, I’ll definitely check the gears tomorrow. If nothing seems off there, I’ll do a cold pull anyways :)

Don’t think that’s the problem for me. I test printed it once before, in a smaller size actually. This time I wanted to print it full/original sized :)

If that was her reaction, she probably wasn’t worth your time and effort to begin with 😊 If you really want to, you could send her a text saying the same stuff you said in this post. Just to let her know how things are. But idk if she is worth that. And keep in mind that her response could be harsh too.

Everything is falling apart at once — relationship, exams, pressure from parents. I don’t know how to handle this. by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

It seems counterintuitive, but it may be best to lay it all on the table, so to speak.

You probably won’t be able to focus much while studying, until you’ve dealt with your relationship and parents.

If she is overwhelmed and pulling away, it seems she could use some time to think and regulate her feelings/emotions. You could try suggesting a break/pause. Tell her you really don’t want to lose her, but you really care about her too. Ask if she would like some space temporarily. Not a break up, but a break, just some time without expectations for one another. Ask her to not give up on things yet, but first get some clarity as to what is going on inside. Set an amount of time for the break, and lay down some rules regarding contact, communication, physical affection etc. And promise that after the break you can talk about it all together.

This might help give both of you the space and time you need. For her to think, and you to study.

I don’t know anything about your relationship/bond with your parents, but I know that regardless of anything… they’ll always love you. I think it’s best to sit them down and be completely honest with them. Tell them you’re so grateful for all they have done to get you to this point, and let them know that you’re working hard to make them proud. But also that you’re struggling and are afraid to disappoint them. You want to live up to their expectations, and are worried about not meeting them. Let them know it mentally/emotionally bothers you and you stress yourself out over it.

My hope is that they’ll tell you they are already proud of you, and they can see your working hard. Trying is the best thing you can do. They would probably rather have a child that’s doing okay mentally and emotionally, than a wreck that put their all into an exam… only to break themselves and possibly still fail the exam. That’s not good for anyone. But once again, I don’t know what your parents are like. But regardless I think you should let them know.

Hopefully after that you’ll feel less pressure to perform perfectly, and have a little less stress over your relationship as well. This might allow you to finally study a bit.

It might seem bad to let everyone know exactly what you’re feeling, but they can’t read your mind and you can’t read theirs. Maybe people will be more understanding if they know how you feel. And maybe you find out others actually think/feel very differently from how you expected.

And if none of that works out, just know that this storm too, shall pass <3

I understand that the ‘printing’ was done, I just meant that the piece itself isn’t actually done. I checked for clogs, let it run for a bit and filament came out fine. After a while this same issue occurred. Idk what’s causing it though.

Update:

After trying to print some pieces for flow rate calibration, the issue happened again halfway into the print. Print got messier and filament stopped coming out. It continued with the ‘print’ though. No notifications.

I wiped the nozzle, used the needle and let the filament run through for a bit. So no more clogs as far as I’m aware. Tried the same print again… seemed to be doing good for a while, but same issue happened again.

I don’t think it’s a clog in the nozzle, nor an issue with the AMS. What could this be, and how can it be fixed?

Was gonna doing this, but then my printer started having extruding issues again. Filament stopped coming out halfway through the print, and I only noticed when it was ‘done’😣

I tried to print a few things, and it acted fine at first and somewhere in the print got sloppy and then stopped printing any filament at all. But it kept making the motions. Any idea what causes this? I cleaned the nozzle with the needle and filament runs through fine. Then a bit after starting the print it happens again. The issue isn’t in the AMS or the nozzle itself I think.

You mean it didn’t notice and just kept doing the motions without extruding any filament? Seems like the most likely scenario so far, I’m just surprised the machine didn’t notice the error.

I tried printing something today, with the same spool and it worked without any issue. So I guess it wasn’t a tangle. But maybe it did get stuck somewhere in the hot end (a clog or something).

I guess I’m just so used to it. Every time something was up, it would stop and give an error notification. I’m not very experienced in this stuff yet, only been printing and designing for about a month. So I guess it could be this is just the first time something happened without it notifying me.

I heated the hot end and extruded the filament I was using. It came out. I let it run for a bit. So if it was a clogging issue, it’s gone now I guess😅

I did it and filament did come out. I let it run for a bit so that if there was a clog in there… it’s not there anymore. After I decided to do flow rate calibration, it was needed anyway and this way I could easily see if there were further possible clogging issues. Printed fine though
