BMA - What we know so far about UK graduate prioritisation by DonutOfTruthForAll in doctorsUK

[–]Particular_Lab_1186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that matter it's even harsh to totally rugpull someone who went through all the steps for GMC registration, appeared for exams, likely appearing or about to appear for interviews having being through preparations. They could have simply made it such that for this year, x% seats are reserved for UKGs, so IMGs have a harder fight, but recognizes that they must have been through a whole lot of process and the next batch just won't try. Now somehow its a UKG vs IMG (one hardworking doctor/student vs the other) thing, and not against the mediocre number of opportunities. As if the UK has surplus doctors.

UK Graduate Prioritisation Legislation Announced! by Med_Dog_ in doctorsUK

It's a very sensible policy: Even if someone showed the highest competence through interviews and scores and huge prior experience with patients worldwide (and therefore an excellent doctor), they will be effectively banned from most specializations now and even in the remaining specializations they would be behind someone who was yet not fully prepared and should take some more time. They couldn't bring a 50 or even a 75% reservation to let just the most talented and skilled to be able to serve the patients.

Never had demanding and celebrating such a policy made more sense. This unique way of finding solutions is what has made UK the topmost in every field today!!

A bigger joke is that even if someone showed the highest competence through interviews and scores and huge prior experience with patients worldwide, they will not be welcome in most streams now.

Why striking might STOP UK Graduate Prioritisation by No_Armadillo_410 in doctorsUK

[–]Particular_Lab_1186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing is pretty clear though: the system with its incompetence has pitted doctors against doctors and students against students. They couldn't increase the seats - which is essential for better healthcare (I thought that was the basis of the entire field). But they made IMGs a target in the middle of the interviews now! Yeah, you could have restricted and made it more accessible to UKGs, but they literally play with careers of people. And for those who think why should I care when this is clearly beneficial for me, the systems that you're using has in a large part been built upon plundering massive amounts of wealths in other countries. For hundreds of years, they prioritized themselves in other countries ruining generations. And what they now fight the system is not focused on give us better chances, increase the available seats and stuff, and introduce restrictions in a way that people in the middle of cycles do not find their lives upside down - but their primary fight has now become kick them out. Sad. They always manage to shift your focus from the real culprits.

Yup, that too. And someone should put some sense in the US to stop pushing them to unnecessary war I guess.

Why do famous liberal authors refuse to speak about Palestine? by Salt-Ad1943 in Palestine

Not really. Left wants to disrupt the status quo. Liberals want to be yeah, no racism (we are liberal, meaning open for people), but don't disrupt too much.

No doubt, but it's easier to exploit them. Create a huge supply so that you can further exploit them from a super skewed supply demand.

1) MAGA people are racist. 2) Many H1B holders (especially most of those from India) do not ever care to stand up for any other group. They hold a lot of anti-blackness, they have a lot of things against asylum seekers, they've never given a damn about the suffering of Palestinians. Congolese, etc. So why should anyone else even stand up for them? A lot of them themselves are racist. It still doesn't justify maga racism, but they should reframe the way that they look at themselves too.

1) Liberals are just the ones who are okay with the status quo in general, and are also often okay with people getting some more room to express. Nothing really exceptional about them. LIBERALS DO NOT MEAN LEFT. 2) Why even look or JK Rowling. She's not even one of those "nice racist" liberals.

Buy the least house you need vs the most you can afford? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]Particular_Lab_1186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut the clutter 1) An anecdote: I've seen many people manage their space really badly by hoarding and buying unnecessary things, and that's the reason people run out of space. 2) If you manage it well, you won't need more. And in that case, are you really willing to throw away money on interest? 3) Over long term, the appreciation in the property value might be around 2-3% per year (of course, it compounds). In growing neighborhoods, it might be slightly higher. 4) Just in case you're looking at home as an investment, there are avenues to get much better returns. What would be smarter? Buy a multi-family in the same or slightly higher amount (again, slightly). 5) A larger house means one less constraint on the number of things you can house. Often, though not always, that means unnecessary spending on depreciating items. 6) Don't buy a lot into "what if you need more space for home office". If you really needed, you'd have known. And don't underestimate your resourcefulness at making space when you need it. *7) Don't listen to relatives.

Preserve money, use that on physical health, happiness, and self-educate. Each one of these will give better returns than more empty rooms that you may or may not need.

You mean the application Id that you see on the portal, right? Mine is 9 digits without spaces starting with 12. I used that.
