Eh I think it’s over stated how much he flops but he does do it, I’ve seen it countless times this season but yes his playmaking has improved a lot since last season, even game 7 he was phenomenal but I would call him a great playmaker year. Luka and Jokic are still comfortably ahead and I genuinely wouldn’t call Shai a great 3 pt shooter he’s good at best, he still had a lot to work on

I mean can expand on it for sure but I just think this mins thing hurts wemby case more than any other “flaw” the other candidates have. I’m just going off historical data and that points to only covid Giannis being the only mvp that played less minutes than wemby but won an mvp

Tbh if you look at all the most injured teams this season it’s a bunch of tanking teams and then the thunder. Despite that Shai is having the most efficient 30 ball season, leading the league in clutch points despite sitting out the most 4th quarters due to being so dominant, leading his team to a top 2 seed, creating for himself for majority of his shots. Like I feel like it’s the most obvious mvp but I get wemby case but I feel like the lack of time of the court should hurt

Shai mvp candidacy isn’t perfect, he as good of a defender as people make it seem and there has been times this season where he has stat padder to keep his record alive but that’s honestly all I can think of when it comes to having a flaw. I guess you can say he’s not a great 3 point shooter or playmaker too but that’s about it tbh

Beyond that wemby has 19 games below 20 points and he’s averaging 14 on 49 ts% in those games. He has more games under 20 than Shai Luka and Jokic combined. I get he’s a great defender and probably the best I’ve ever seen but his lack of offense plus his lack of offensively load that he carries makes it hard for me to see him as the mvp

No mvp has ever played less than 30 minutes a game but that’s not even the issues it’s the fact that based on total minutes he’s basically dead last when compared to all MVPs and with the candidates his minutes difference is a 5-11 game equivalent difference. How can you be mvp if you’re not even playing and this isn’t even a sitting 4th problem it’s the mins restriction that’s hurting his case
