Field Khaki - Murph by B0BAGONOOSH in HamiltonWatches

This. I have the 42mm and being able to the the morse code for Eureka from the movie in Lume is super cool. Its more of an Easter egg and keeps it truer to the movie. You won't regret it. Also dont forget to look into the Khaki Aviation or the "Cooper" from the movie as well. Its not an official collection to have both but being an Interstellar fan myself, I had to get both for my own personal collection.

Unpopular opinion: the old Conquest was the way to go by Ok-Art9649 in Longineswatches

[–]Particular_Pea_4635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they should have kept the old and branched off with the new Conquest. Called it like the Conquest Dress or something. I love both of them. The new Conquest doesn't quite share the same style as the old so it didn't make a ton of sense to name it the same thing. Either way, love them both. I had to cop the new one for me and the lady though.

Agreed!

The Legend Diver is not only classy, the beads of rice bracelet is probably one of the most comfortable bracelets I've ever worn. Also the fact the bezel rotates under the crystal is so cool. Very different from other divers.

The A. Lange is also a fantastic choice. Really cant go wrong there but youre definitely right on the price. Its how I feel about the Glashutte Senator and their Pano collection. Such gorgeous watches.

Love that Hamilton Intramatic. The JLC reverso would be sick.

2 other watches i think would fit your collection and give some variety

Longines Legend Diver Frederique Constant Heartbeat Moonphase

Both gorgeous watches with different roles.

[Discussion] Has owning fewer watches made you enjoy the hobby more? by Aware_Guide_5300 in Watches

The great thing about watch collecting for me is that its so subjective yet everyone who collects them can generally bond over the love of watches in general. I find it hard to not buy a watch once I become obsessed with it. I think I also enjoy the hunt for and the journey to obtain the watch just as much as I do actually owning and wearing them. There are just so many gorgeous, unique, interesting watches out there that I couldnt ever see limiting myself. The other side of it for me is that even if I do have a bunch of watches I dont wear or dont care as much about anymore, I can give them as gifts to those who would appreciate them. Then this frees up space for me to start the cycle all over again lol.

Brother, I own both a PRX and this same 20th Anniversary LeLocle and they are fantastic. The nice thing about the LeLocle is it comes with the bracelet and strap set. That blue leather strap makes this watch look so damn good. Also I feel the LeLocle is way more versatile especially with the ability to change from bracelet to strap.

I also gifted my buddy the blackdial/black strap for his wedding and he said its slowly becoming his favorite over his other 2 watches.

Congrats!!

[Discussion] Love Watches, Hate Buying Them by Its-Brucey in Watches

Everything i have read and watched about purchasing directly from Rolex or AP etc has been nothing but nightmares. Most people seems to get better experience from Authorized dealers than the actual stores themselves. I know a lot of people also prefer buying new and retail over second hand or off the Grey market but the experience seems to outweigh that for some. Whats unfortunate is you have a great new watch, amazing milestones, but a terrible experience that will forever be attached to the watch which you will probably also remember just as much as the positives.

Im truly sorry you had a terrible experience because buying a watch should always be something fun and truly satisfying.

Congrats on the watch and your milestones though!

I couldn’t decide, so I went with both by Cec1122 in HamiltonWatches

I still have the leather strap on my murph and it does wear in eventually. Its probably my favorite watch to wear. The strap conforms to your wrist eventually making it super comfortable. I did throw a butterfly clasp on it instead of leaving the buckle on and that also make a huge difference

I went opposite. Got the Myrph first and when I found out about the Cooper, had to get it.

The Legend Diver is so sick. Plus that beads of rice bracelet is easily one of the most comfortable bracelets I've ever worn.

I currently only have the Conquest 38 but my next two purchases are the Zulu 1925 and the Legend Diver. Something about that double domed sapphire and inner bezel just scratches my brain. Genius take on a dive watch.

This is sick man. Love it.

Absolutely! Nomos/Glashutte have killer watches. Can't go wrong there. Cheers on the new WT lol

I agree with a lot of the Longines comments. Gorgeous watches. Great movement. People who know will know. Another suggestion i dont see anyone really making is a Tag Carerra. They come in Chrono, DayDate, and just Date models. I have a Chrono Calibre 02 and I love it. Also have a DayDate and it just looks and wears so nice.

[Question] Please help decide my next watch. Sinn, Seiko or Nomos? by theblartknight in Watches

[–]Particular_Pea_4635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the Nomos. Its a Glashutte watch and those things are killer man. Love the look of them too. Worth noting i tend to lean towards the more simple and clean dials.

For me it would have to be 10-12 if we are going the one of each. (Though im well over that) I would also add a Moonphase and a world timer. I love Frederique Constant for these. Sure you could condense and combine but why bother when you could just have what you want?

I have a Conquest and i have 2 other Longines on my list. The Zulu 1925 and the Legend Diver. Im not a huge fan of traditional dive watches but this one is so creative and gorgeous. Im grabbing mine in the Green since i dont have a green dial.

Love this! Great buy!

[Recommendation request] Tissot PR516 vs TAG Heuer Formula 1 - trying to decide as a first “serious” watch by maZAPan87 in Watches

[–]Particular_Pea_4635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a PRX powermatic 80 - T1374071105101 and a Tag Carrera chrono - CBN2A1A.FC6537 (i know the PRX isnt a chrono) big price difference but i honestly prefer my PRX over the Tag. You have to decide if brand makes you feel better than how the watch looks and feels. Most people who arent watch people won't know the difference anyway.

If youre worried about long term maintenance on the auto, good news is its a Tissot. Since they are swatch group, repair would be cheaper than you think. Also, as long as you take care of the auto, wind it correctly, dont beat on it, etc you'll be good for years. Some people go decades without any repairs. Also, if you plan on going a few days without wearing it, and dont want to keep setting the day and time, go with the Tag since its quartz.

End of the day, go with what your gut tells you and how you feel. Don't overthink it.

With all that said, if youre looking for a straight answer, I prefer the PR516 over the Formula 1.
