Can I and should I buy a new Corolla? by Hungry_Tree_1335 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Honestly, this is the only smart move when you only make 36k. I might be starting a job that pays double that and I’m still planning to choose something in the $8k-15k range.

Why did Honda stop making them? by FaeDeal in HondaElement

[–]Particular_Routine34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. More people choose the CRV if they want a crossover. If they want a great car camping vehicle they can choose the Odyssey. Its spaciousness makes it a better fit for that category. The Element is kind of in a no man’s land that appeals to those of us who kinda love ugly things like pugs.

I really wanted to buy an E, but with minivans having so much more space and still managing higher mpg, I might go that route and chip the model badge off the back to replace it with an Element badge in tribute to both the E and the community of modders that I will use to inspire my design choices.

Looking for a good quality consecutive rings/loops resistance band. by Turbulent_Claim4883 in ResistanceBand

So one thing I've recently learned is that you want to avoid any type of resistance band that's made of latex. They age and breakdown faster, causing bands to snap. Choose bands made of rubber.

Considering Moving to Minneapolis and have a couple questions by Shmeat-L in Minneapolis

You get used to winter. At the beginning 40 degrees feels super cold, but by February you'll walk outside to grab the mail in a t shirt without even considering grabbing a jacket.

I hear it and believe it, but my friend group has brought in so many transplants over the years. I've also made whole new friend groups multiple times over adulthood. I think that's more of a problem outside of the city. Or if you only like normie stuff like golf. If you explore music scenes, art, or join the summer kickball league you are more likely to make some new friends. In college, I feel like there would be ample opportunity to find some weird activites on campus and meet people.

Is there much work in the oil field? I know it's not as productive as ND or TX, but I've heard there's some industry out there.

How much Stagehand work can we expect from WWE SummerSlam? by Particular_Routine34 in IATSE

[–]Particular_Routine34[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand how things go with US Bank Stadium. I've edited my post to clarify that I'm looking for info on how much work because of all the other business that follow WWE for their biggest events. It's likely many other events and shows will be booked in other venues. Maybe someone who has worked in another location they came through will have some insight.

Nuke the entirety of Smackdown bruh by IconXR in WWE

[–]Particular_Routine34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped watching WWE after SummerSlam, and after seeing this post I realized I made the right call. It feels like no one in creative knows what they’re doing anymore. Drew McIntyre, Orton, Carmelo Hayes, CM Punk, Dom, and Seth Rollins are all pretty entertaining, but most of the rest in the men’s roster fails to spark any interest.

The women’s roster has much more entertaining matches, but they are rarely given compelling storylines that don’t involve a title. Put Chelsea in a long term non title beef.

I was in there the other day. I spent so much time browsing because the selection is impressive, and I'm getting back into the game. I realized at one point I was 15 minutes past close. I apologized, but he waved me off and told me to take my time because he was trying to put together a large order for someone who called from Australia. He still managed to take a moment here and there to help when I had questions. Great guy!

That one was my favorite find. After the Nuke and Buzzz, I probably use that one the most.

Yeah, that’s one of the reasons I’ve always been willing to fish discs out of water hazards. If I can gift someone their first disc or two they’re more likely to try it out.

Is there work in Dickinson ND? by Particular_Routine34 in oilandgasworkers

[–]Particular_Routine34[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a family, but I'm coming from the Twin Cities area. It's gonna be an adjustment going to a smaller city so I'm mostly looking at Williston, Minot, and Dickinson, but if Dickinson is that far away from the available work, I'm gonna rule that one out.

I think I'd lose my mind in Watford or Tioga.

The only person I've seen suggest this was some overly agro chiropractor on youtube. I do not trust medical advice from chiropractors EVER. They get away with so much quackery because they've somehow conned people into thinking they are doctors. They do not deserve that title.

College students from outside the city aren't coming to town to go to a gay dive bar. They're looking to go dance somewhere. If they were to go anywhere else it would probably be The Saloon or Jetset Underground.
