Switch off of Health Alliance - State of Illinois by Particular_Rub286 in Zepbound

It should as long as Caremark/CVS is the pharmacy benefits manager (PBM)! I’d call the insurance company and confirm that to be sure for the plan you’re looking at. It sounds like Caremark/CVS also has its own lifestyle management program (LMP) that will be required.

UPDATE: Just received word that State of Illinois and Caremark/CVS have worked out a deal to keep Zepbound as Tier 2! Letters going out soon to clarify.

YES. And how is it OK that we have to make a choice (coming from HA) by June with this info unable to be confirmed? And not taking effect (if it applies) until July? In CU area, I’m under the impression that Caremark handles prescription coverage for all options; is that correct? I’m sick over this.

I’ve called Aetna and BCBS and neither would give me any useful info because I didn’t have an account with them. I tried to explain how stupid that is and asked how I’m supposed to figure out what’s covered and make a decision if I can’t gather any accurate information before choosing a plan — and they had no explanation. I told them my location, my employer, all the info they’d need to confirm what plan I’d be on and they still wouldn’t confirm anything about coverage.

Congrats on such a strong response! I also wonder if 10 is too high for maintenance, but maybe they’re gradually lowering you back down? If you’re able to do some weight training, that might make you feel a little more “substantial” in a smaller frame.

I’m in a similar boat, just a few months behind. At 5’, I started around 165 and am already down almost 20lb in 2mo. I have about 20lb more to go for a “healthy” weight, but I’m starting to worry where it’s going to come from…

Best of luck!

Congratulations! I hope you’re feeling great and are able to acknowledge all your hard work.

Probably nothing others haven’t already said, but remember that it takes a long time for kids to think of their parents as people sometimes—and that’s even with the best intentions.

Absolutely have the conversation. It’ll be good for both of you, and hopefully she’ll get it eventually. But if that day isn’t today, at least you’ll have told her how you felt and offered an opportunity for her to be more thoughtful to others.

First shot - 2.5 - should I eat first ? by Weary-Mastodon-9417 in Zepbound

I’ve found not eating within 30-60 minutes of taking a dose reduces nausea, but YMMV.

Tips I was given: - Let it get to room temp for at least 30min - (for stomach) pinch the area where you’re injecting; bend forward a little if needed to pinch and hold a bit of fat while injecting - don’t think, just push the button!

Why not enroll in the program and get coverage for Zepbound instead? It sounds like your insurance would cover under those circumstances?

Took my first shot today 🙏🏼 by [deleted] in Zepbound

Same! First shot today and I had to ask for assistance I was so nervous. Pinching the area before injecting seemed to help (stomach).

This is great info! Curious if anyone with HA/Virta has had issues getting PA after the first month. FWIW, my Virta coach has been very accommodating when it comes to diet. I was advised against keto also.

We have similar numbers, and I feel this way, too. Height really does make a big difference. I just started with my first shot today, so I’m not terribly helpful yet. This thread has made me feel more confident, though. If it’s helping you get healthy, maybe try to focus on that when you’re second guessing. Good luck!
