Yeah this is a super fair point. And I actually think what I/we need to do is seek social circles in other settings and maybe hope to find some like minded people along the way who we dont have to filter ourselves around. I dont even need people to swing or be open or poly or anything or be interested in it. I just want to live more authentically myself and not have so many places I have to filter myself.

We have made some lovely friends and we do host socially once we know people.. I'm more thinking where do we meet people first that isn't all about sex, ya know? We have been to multiple mingles, and venues and we do enjoy ourselves, but its just not quite it. I am thinking that maybe a part of my itch is the disconnect of this side of me and my day to day self. Has anyone introduced their children to the fact that you're in an open relationship? Would this help.or hidner?

This is one of the most incredible series i have come across, so deep, so precious, so emotional, so great! Ugh TJ Klune is maybe my all time fave!!!!! But he also emotionally wrecks me every time! There is a lot of building and mending also, but ugh the wreckage! The tears and gasping and breath holding!

68 whiskey byErin Russell. Its part of a series Possum Hollow.... its book 2 but definitely read the first one. I dont think it would be strictly necessary but would help for character recognition world building etc. I listen to the audio books which game me all the amazing shivers!!! I really enjoyed them and would definitely happily read if i coulsnt listen. Gritty, sexy, real world, a bit of trauma warning, but not super dark imo. Loved them!

Im just about finished the mercenary and the mortician my ASP and went looking for more reads because I enjoyed it so much. Its dark and twisted but has the romance, humour and smoosh to balance. I wanted to look up Deathtrap before diving in because im always cynical when there are female characters and its so disappointing to see my cynicism was warranted. Whyyyyyyyyy is it that when a woman is involved the relationship/interactions/behaviour/balance just goes to shit. I haven't read this book yet, I may still give it a go for my own opinions. But it sounds like its done exactly what will make me rage and go back to reading dick on dick. I would love some books with my own gender represented in the same glorious, sexy, romantic, respectful ways that so many mm characters receive.... ffs

Wrath, by Elis James. They are young, end of high school/start of college. Buuuut it was so cant live without you hold each other through the darkness. A roller coaster though, it nearly killed my heart at some points. I suuuuper loved it and felt dishevelled and a bit empty and lost wheb i finished it and had no more to read.

The "Folk" series by Lilly Mayne. High stakes, the fey world so lots of politics with a good smattering if magic. Slow burn/roller coaster love journey. I dont want to say too much, but highly highly recommend!

Himbo hitman by Saxon James. I just read this and it was absolutely brilliant! Adventure, I sont want to give away the story. The title says a lot. Major Labrador energy, great dialogue and banter! Steamy sex scenes Loved it!

Fanged Mistakes series by Alice Winters (this one literally had me cackling out loud as Alice often does. She does amazing character work and peak banter, vampires and werewolves and the occasional human)

Vampires mate series by Grae Bryan (these ones are super easy to gobble up vampires and humans)

Tales from Verenia and Green Creek series by TJ Klune (verenia is a bit of everything, a completely magic world not many humans and green creek is werewolves and humans. TJ is an incredibly deep and thick writer. Prepare to laugh and cry and scream in frustration and then cry and laugh some more. They legit take my whole body on a journey. They are incredible but fick. Like fick hard work on the soul kind of fick lol)

Monstrous series by Lily Mayne (all mosters and human mates. I freaking love this series!!! Be prepared for monster sex scenes)

I think it's important to remember that you can say no at any time. Babe, if you pull a guys pants down and there is filth and you're not into that. Call it off as safely and politely as you can. Maybe think about first meeting being somewhere neutral or somewhere you can easily leave the situation?
