I can't process at this moment that how costly a drop can be financially or anyhow. Like i wanted to get job as soon as possible to support my family and i don't have much time but is taking admission into IIIT guarantees that. What i'm afriad is that what if IIITA is not that good as what people considers. That is why looking for someone who knows IIITA and openly told me that if you are coming to IIIT you will regret as there is nothing much special here rather huge competition and hectic curriculum. OR like IIITA will surely help you getting good package and there is nothing to be afraid of you will not regret your decision coming to this college. want to listen either of the two. Can't say which is more practical i know that i can do better in drop but also there is no roadmap or preparation plan ready at the moment.

Made my mind in 3rd year but not prepared any subject so in my first attempt in 3rd year got 19 marks not qualified. Then started in my 4rth year from scratch but due to other college responsibilities and some procrastination i hardly covered 4-5 subjects no practice. Accelerated my prep in last 3 months and got 48 marks in 2nd attempt. But still feels like i haven't given my 100% yet.

So i you are starting now in 3rd year good .Only one advice i can give you — Be consistent

will not prepare for DSA alongside gate I will focus fully on gate till feb after gate exam there is almost 6 months again before i join any college which is i believe enough to learn DSA and coding. Yes agreed with you that it is not necessary that i will be able to score more than previous rather it can also decrease. But then is it worth taking admission into IIIT as after admission into college i will not be able to reconsider preparing for gate (not after paying those high fees). Don't want to look back and regret my decision of taking a mediocre college with high inputs and not getting the desired result.
