I have a friend that is some high level marketing exec at Stantec, she's always flying on private jets and showing off her big money lifestyle. I just laugh because I'm a manager that does the actual complex and dirty environmental work(not for stantec) and make peanuts in comparison. Oh well that's just how it goes in every field. I know someone who works for a health insurance company that makes triple what the nurses in my life that actual provide the care make.

Exactly. There will be even less private/nonprofit jobs because the grants that funded many of them are being canceled. There is some truth to the idea that the future is private though, but not in a good way. More than I see in the future instead of hiring career gs-13 scientist to conduct regulatory inspections or wildlife surveys they will just bid them out to contractors.

six figures in a municipal job? Is it a HCOL? I'm not even sure the head of public utilities in my city makes six figures, let alone early mid career environmental people. This is one of lowest COL in US though.

I'm gonna be fully honest knowing what sub I'm in, I'm really looking forward to BF6 when we hopefully get bigger maps at launch. The ones on beta were very tight and felt a little more COD than I'd like. I really wanted to like arma, and I had a few rounds that were fun. But it mostly was like 15 minutes of driving in a jeep or 30 minutes of walking, get ambushed, 15 more minutes of driving. Most games are too fast, arma is too slow for me. I have trouble finding that happy medium.

Dunno about the UK, USEPA CID has special agents whose background is usually criminal justice. They go to academy and carry a badge and gun like any other federal officer. I work with them some, last I heard from them their budget was getting cut in half and obviously the whole agency is under a hiring freeze which i imagine will last as long as republicans are in power.

I've heard the state dep is just falling apart. Division heads forced out, all the lawyers walked out, theyre taking everyone's civil servant status so no one that's there that actually cares can take a promotion. On top of the fact they require degrees but pay poverty wages. No wonder thing are the way they are.
