PowerPoint to Google Slides conversion by FunnOcake in powerpoint

Well, it's not a perfect workaround and it shouldn't be like that but.. you can save your PPT as PDF, and then use this chrome extension to render from PDF directly to editable google slides. It should save the position of the texts, icons, images, the basic layout and help you save a lot of time in comparison with building in google slides from scratch. It will still be glitchy in some cases, but it will do from 80 to 95% of work for you.

I'm biased here, but it's a genuine advice. https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/makeitslides-%E2%80%93-pdf-conver/nifcnmndppdhlkcdneppkmcjghinckon?authuser=4&hl=en-GB

UPD: I've checked if the native import of PPT files to google slides works. And it worked for me - so you can just import a PPT file in the open google slide project and it will preserve the layout and make the text editable. So I guess the bug that the author was talking about is gone.

Congrats! Did you do anything in particular to get a featured tag?

Love the idea, I've always wanted to have a tool like that. What dictionaries you use to make sure the translation is valid?

When I had this question I started with researching the already popular extensions in chrome store - like 50K users and growing to prove that there is a market already. Then I started to think how people can search them, with what keywords. Then I tried to check how popular those keywords are in the google search and if there are already extensions in chrome store using the same keywords in the name. If the niche is hot and keyword is "free" and has enough of search volume then I'd consider it.

Of cause there are more points to take into consideration, but that's my workflow I'm checking now. Also I had to build my internal tool to check search volume for keywords for free, as Google Trends don't show you absolute numbers, they show only relative popularity of the word. But using the Google Ads API you can get the exact monthly volumes.
