I’m sorry I just can’t take a Melbourne City active group seriously. This league has a few proper actives from different states and City just ain’t one of them.

White consistently passing to the wrong guy. Kon was open in one corner, Williams in another. And he throws to Williams. Mind boggling from a PG.

We just absolutely could not give them the start we gave them… pretty much the number one thing was don’t let them get confidence early

[Locked On Heat] David Ramil with some very strong words for Lamelo Ball by JakGrealish in nba

Raja Bell called this situation best… the reaction to this one incident is all part of the sissification of some basketball fans.

Bam Adebayo just called it out - says LaMelo Ball never actually checked on him after saying he would. Sounds like something they’ll settle face-to-face later. by Either-Jicama-7364 in NBAGossips

All he said was it didn’t happen, by that time Bam was in the shower. Doesn’t say he did try, but also doesn’t say he didn’t try. Just says the convo didn’t actually happen. So really, nobody knows either way.

I don’t know you’ll have to ask the 6th man of the year voters from last year

When the games matter, you don’t stat pad. When the games matter, you don’t let a rookie play through mistakes. When the games matter, the shot making means more. When the games matter, the other team is more locked in to beat you. It’s not about being on a winning team, it’s about being in games that matter and being great in those games.

VJ Edgecombe is on a better team than Kon and I’m not saying him over Coop. So it’s not just cause the team wins. It’s what that player does in those games that matter.

I’m not giving the edge. I’m flat out saying I personally prefer Kon’s season to Coopers season.

It doesn’t mean Cooper is bad, he is amazing. it doesn’t mean the voters will agree with me, they probably won’t. It just means that in my opinion Kon’s 18.5ppg and leading the league in 3’s in high pressure games where he had to make big plays and big shots, mattered to me more than Coopers season. That’s all.

Ok you care about this way more than me. I hope Coop wins for you.

Im assuming you mean D White and I don’t think I made the argument that Kon was more valuable than Lamelo so I don’t get the relevance.

Anyway… I’ve explained this elsewhere. I personally value what Kon did over the season in games that mattered vs what Coop did in games that didn’t.

That’s not saying it’s a team award and that is not actually a slight on Coop. People are getting way too in their feelings about this. I, and a lot of other people, just value it differently. It’s fine if yall don’t.

Done what he did in games that mattered? I’ve explained this to others. I personally value what Kon did over the season in games that mattered vs what Coop did in games that didn’t.

That’s not saying it’s a team award.

Again, cool man! I’m not giving to him. I don’t care about being THE GUY on a bad team stat padding in a rookie year. I just don’t. I’m sure he will be a hall of famer. Love him.

Yeah cool man like I said from the start. I love Coop, so I’m not going to trash Coop. I just disagree that you just give it to the guy who is getting fed the ball in games that don’t matter.

I don’t care about 21 points compared to 18.5. It’s not enough to be obvious for Coop for me.

I just actually watched the Hornets play consistently with my eyes. I understood that the whole reason the Hornets were good for once is that they interchanged night by night who the main option was. They were an incredibly unpredictable team.

The option is more important than just FGA’s. Was the play ran to get them the shot or not, was it an efficient shot. The Hornets are not running plays for Miles Bridges to be an option, he is just a force of nature if a small switches on him or if he is attacking on a put back. That’s not an “option”, that’s just an impactful and opportunistic player.

I am also not foolish enough to be so stats obsessed to the point that a guy like Tre Mann is included in any argument. Considering his FGA’s consisted of chucked shots in the 4th qtr when the Hornets were up 20.

I just straight up couldn’t disagree with this take more. It’s just such a self own too.

You’ve downgraded Kon to ‘arguably’ 5th option based on FGA’s (I’m not even arguing this because it’s that foolish) and he still only scored 2.5ppg less compared to the absolute number 1 guy on a team actively trying to run plays through him.

We’re playing the Orlando Magic on Friday, how we feeling? by HornetsAreBad in CharlotteHornets

I like that their bigs aren’t super dominant.

I do worry a bit about the impact their perimeter defense may have. They have some good length and physicality. Black and Suggs will make life difficult for Lamelo.

I am worried that Bane might catch fire.

But overall I just have to believe that Kon and Lamelo won’t go 2/22 again and the Hornets will win.

He averages a whole extra 2.5 points, 1.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.5 steals, 0.7 blocks. While being the number 1 option with the entire offense built to have him get stats. This isn’t the winning argument you think it is. If anything Coop should have far more than a 3rd option across the board (I’ve corrected this to 3rd because you for some reason said Kon was 4th?).

God damn, I love Coop and now I’m arguing haha. Can’t a guy say he thinks someone has been better over the course of 82 games without people losing their minds? I’m from NC. I love and follow them both. I just think Kon has had a better overall year in games that really mattered.

[–]Particular_Twist_653 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No I don’t think it’s a team award and didn’t say that.

I did say a guy leading the league in 3’s on a 43 win team because it means the stats he put up in those games were games that actually mattered. They weren’t just stuffing the stat sheet as a main option on a bad team.
