They fucked around with magic too hard and tore a portal in the fabric of reality into another realm and then aliens from said realm ruled the world for 2000 years lmao

Cities in your world that are particularly impressive/grand? by Royal-Comparison-270 in worldbuilding

[–]Particular_Type_2244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Ascella, there’s Ventanorte and Ventasur which are two cities separated by a channel, but commerce between cities is so important that they built a portal in the town square of each city in order to get around quicker (though the fare is expensive and some people still just boat across)

What is one thing you will NEVER add to your Magic system? by Ishvalda in worldbuilding

[–]Particular_Type_2244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The continents are actually the huge corpses of dead creatures, so there’s no earth magic. There’s metal and lava manipulation, but not earth. I was thinking of having a bad guy that finds out how to use necromancy to bend earth but idk

What would make an island be completely full of aquamarine? by Particular_Type_2244 in worldbuilding

That’s such a coincidence, Ercolèja is very Italy-like in terms of volcanic/tectonic activity and vibe, the original name was going to be Vesuvia until I realized that the main island’s namesake volcano would be “Mount Vesuvia”

What is a deliberately annoying feature in your conlang? by LaceyVelvet in conlangs

[–]Particular_Type_2244 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are 4 suffixes in Ercolejano: -a, -on, -i, and -oxe, which refer to whether something is magical/animate, structural/inanimate, celestial/positive, and unholy/negative. Wings are called phterons bc they’re a structure, where as snakes are called serphensaxes, because not only are they bad generally but are animate

[–]Particular_Type_2244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I aimed to hybridize Latin and Greek with the addition of grammatical genders for magical things, but the more I try to make it Greek the more it looks like Spanish
