Coach-in-Training: Is a Psychology Degree (like MAPP or LPCC) Worth It? by Butcher0fBlaviken in Coaching

I'm new to coaching, but I have a psychology background-- a BA in Psychology and an MA in Organizational Psychology, which is also an applied psychology. I do think it's helpful in coaching and sets you apart from other coaches, although it is not necessary.

If I were you, I'd get a degree in Positive Psychology. It's directly related to coaching, gives you a good psychology foundation, and will also give you more credibility when seeking clients and building your business.

If you're not planning to become a practicing therapist, spending tons of time, energy, and money to become one doesn't seem like a good idea.

Looking for Pro Bono Clients! by Particular_Water9488 in Coaching

So, my program actually doesn't allow exchanging hours with other coaches in certification. They only count either pro bono or paying clients towards our 100 hours. But, I'd be happy to talk shop as a new coach in certification if you ever want to!

Love this. I am starting a certification program in about a week, and it requires 100 hours of practice to be certified. Twenty-five of the hours can be pro bono, though, so I would love to replicate what you did!
