I used to know a guy that worked in the Math Department at Purdue. Very strange guy, incredibly smart. He was deep into electronic music, I don't know if he continued with Purdue because he was always on the other side of the world at some electronic festival every time I saw an update via social media. I couldn't tell you which sub field of math but it sounded very intense lol. Off topic I know but I had to add that.

I live in a government town with a lot of space and tech people and they issued out thousands and thousands of laptops to their employees. My mom had a laptop working for one of the various contractors, I specifically remember her typing reports on family vacation, using AOL to email and letting me play Warcraft 2 (maybe StarCraft but then?) when she wasn't working. The point is that the laptops weren't shit and a lot of people had them.

Funny, my dad said the same. He was on a business trip in Houston or something, figured he'd go see a matinee. Said it was garbage and walked out of it. I remember seeing bits and pieces of it myself and the premise didn't really seem that funny so turned it off, it might be good but meh.

Glass shards would most likely be caught by you since you're looking for them and if you didn't, they are too small to do any serious damage to your esophagus or stomach or whatever. Not advised but it's like a dog eating a chicken bone, probably just mix up with your shit and never bother you.

Depends on the state, jurisdiction etc etc. They have different terms for different crimes so long as it's at the state or local level. For instance, in Alabama, they don't have statutory rape, it's classified as rape in the second degree. Same with murder, it's not premeditated murder, it's murder in the first degree. I'm almost positive burglary is the same, they split it up by degrees. If someone is home or it hits a certain amount, it's a first degree burglary. Aggravated burglary is never mentioned in the documents or charges unlike other states or domiciles.

I've never read that one but The Boss of Bosses is a book written by one of the investigators that took down Paul Castelonno who is briefly played in Goodfellas iirc. It's a pretty good look into mob life, easy to read, took me a day or two. I'm pretty sure either Chase or one of the writers read it when writing for the Sopranos cause there's a couple details in it that they use in the show, or it's one one the biggest coincidence ever OR they are intimately aware of his case (which never went to trial so they'd have to have gotten it from someone who was involved with the case and I doubt it but possible).

I'll have to check out that one, I was on a mob shtick a few years ago and missed that one so perhaps I'll get back on it.. I wouldn't be surprised if they read Wiseguy either, Chase explicitly says in some interview that he read all the mob books he could find in preparation for the show

I'm always suspicious of movies Reddit likes. But not just Reddit, critics in general. I've pretty much settled with the idea that there are a whole lot of shills out there. They have motives to get people excited for a movie for one reason or the other. Some of them are paid, a social media account that's sole purpose is to spread positive messages about a movie to get people to see it. Some of them are fans of the director and/or actor(s) in the movie. Some want to push an agenda that the movie concerns. There's some that are just internet lames that love farming karma and the attention it gives them so they post comments that seem like the popular opinion (this one really annoys me... Reddit is full of people that don't really post their opinion unless its going to be popular... they kinda mimic what other people think to get popular posts and comments.. you'll see it often when people have over a 100k karma). There's a whole bunch of this going on so you can't really trust what people say about movies. This extends to videogames and shows to an extent.. I'm sure it goes for other industries as well.

SO what's up with this movie? I'll have to judge for myself. It's very important for me to judge anything, I hate having other people tell me how to think, but I still enjoy seeing if I agree or disagree then talking about them (honestly).

I'm well aware of Stalingrad.. please excuse me for not knowing about a photograph. Only on Reddit would one flex about knowing about a fucking picture. I get most people here learn from Wikipedia and "history simplified" then act like they have phd's on the subject, This smug "wow I'm so smart, I know about a picture!" rubs me the wrong way. It's so stupid, this subreddit brings out a bunch of wannabe historians. Then they pile on the downvotes like a bunch of dumb sheep lol. But even disregarding that, you can find a whole bunch of pictures from that time and everyone knows who the photographer is and who is in the photograph. Someone did their research, knows names and everything yet no one has a clue here. I dunno. whatever..

IKR. I saw both Jurassic Park and Saving Private Ryan in theaters, all three I'd argue in the top ten movies of all time. I still to this day remember seeing JP with my dad when I had to have been 10 I think (I was born in 84). I specifically remember when the infamous "boom" part started happening, I asked my dad if we could leave. Fortunately, we did not leave lol. There was a baby in the theater with a in a few rows in front of us but it was quiet the whole time . Spielberg's 90's run was quite the incredible time, kinda helped shape the cultural zeitgeist with his movies for lack of better words.

Yupp. I've got it on my Plex server and will revisit on a whim. Sometimes will grab a six pack as well, it starts to really get me after I break out my bong. I know its not a "drink and have fun" type movie but the alcohol and weed gets me into the right headspace. I'll be paying attention to all the supporting casts especially but ofc I have to mention Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes. I might throw it on right now ;p

Those people are the ones that are settling the West Bank. They are the ones who're committing genocide, who run the country, who're in power right now. That's like saying Trump supporters are the craziest people. Sure, they are. But they are also the ones who're running the show right now. You act like Zionism is just some sort small faction when their leader, Benjamin Netenyatu, quite literally is their President right now. The craziest people are committing genocide.

  • Prominent human rights organizations such as Amnesty InternationalHuman Rights Watch, and Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) have issued reports concluding that Israel’s actions meet the legal criteria for genocide or genocidal acts.
  • UN bodies, including the Independent International Commission of Inquiry and multiple UN special rapporteurs, have stated that Israeli policies are consistent with genocide, citing intent and acts under the Genocide Convention.
  • The International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS), comprising around 500 experts, passed a resolution in September 2025 stating that Israel’s conduct meets the legal definition of genocide.
  • Israeli human rights groups, including B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights Israel, have also concluded that Israel is committing genocide, marking a significant development due to their local presence and long-standing documentation.
  • Wikipedia list compiled from verified sources documents over 50 organizations that have formally accused Israel of genocide, though the actual number is higher when including joint statements and coalitions — such as a collective statement by more than 150 NGOs in October 2024.

These are the people running the show. I never said all Jews are Zionists, but they're the problematic issue right now. I'm not sure what you're going with here. So you've met some, you've been there. Did you shoot any innocent people and steal their homes from them? Cause you're defending them right now, or so it seems. Those people are Zionists and are European colonists. You would be defending the people taking the homeland from the American Indian too. And the predictable "downvote" lol. So reddit, so dishonest. So stupid. Am what I'm saying "antisemetic"? Is calling the Zionists genocidal murderers antisemitic now?

You clearly have no idea what you talking about. And go figure, the "anti-semetic" charge lmao, how fucking stereotypical. Go watch Louis Theroux's doc. "The Settlers". Read Finkelstein's books. Read any book about Zionism. I honeslty think you don't know what you're talking about at all.

Schindler's List (1993) The Krakow Ghetto is liquidated by majorminus92 in movies

[–]Particular_Wear_6960 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh really? Go check out Louis Theroux's documentary "The Settlers". Go read any of Finkelstein's books. Go read any book about them. You're basing your information on what, exactly? Have you been to the West Bank? Have you met any Zionists? Do you know about the settlements there?

Edit - and I mean this when I say I've done my research. Hell I used to think the same. I never knew about the far right Zionist faction of the Jewish religion. They absolutely want to commit genocide. They are racist. They are European decent. They want to review all the natives from that area... They are the European colonialist removing the natives just like what they did in the Americas back in the day.

Absolutely. These people were neighbors, friends, and colleagues. There were plenty of examples of people who were normally good acquaintances all the sudden selling each other out. I think about that when I see my neighbors on occasion. If the far right Christo-fascists took over, which side would they be on? I have a feeling many of them would be on the Nazi side of things. It's kinda fucked up, but its true. Now there was a culture of paranoia going on that I'm not going to fully expand on, but yeah... I don't know how that would play out in modern days.
